NEW 11 SERIES

The 11 series of registrations can be viewed online now before they become available to buy on the DVLA website at 8:30am on Tuesday 7th December.

I thought the prices were too good to be true and that it must be an online auction, with prices starting from £399. However having rung the DVLA was told it is 1st come 1st served. I think this will make an excellent Xmas or Birthday gift.

If you don't plan on buying a new car in the immediate future, you can pay a fee of £25 for a certificate of entitlement and can extend for 12 months.

Prices start from £399 All registrations include VAT and the £80 assignment fee. This means there is nothing else to pay except for the costs of having the actual physical plates made up. NO HIDDEN CHARGES!

Why do people do this? You are far better off with a number no one can recall. Paying extra for one that is easily committed to memory is just stupid.

If you look at their website, the DVLA hold many online auctions where prices can start from £1999 upwards. But the personal number registrations on sale from tomorrow are on a 1st come 1st served basis. I personally have tried a few combinations (which I think are good) and are priced at £399 or £499. Great - if this is soooooo cold, hopefully I will have a higher probability of securing my fav no plate! Lol

Great fun, nice one. Pity I have a company car. Have just found my ideal plate - with the help of a nicely placed screwhead

If it's deals you're after the best deal is what they give you for £0 (well, the dealer might let you pick from the ones he's been allocated). Don't you pay enough to make your car legal already? And the moment you start playing with spacing, typeface, fixing bolts, etc it becomes very, very sad, a bit chavvy and can only attract attention you don't need from the old bill.

I can see some might want to go for this but no way is it a 'deal'.

Site is mega busy!!! Managed to secure my fav no plate 1st thing at 8.30am. When i rung DVLA yesterday I was warned it would get busy & is based on a 1st come 1st served basis. Fingers crossed you get what you wanted (if you wanted to buy that is).

Don't know why this is so cold!

I have been trying to get back on the site for my cousin who wants to buy, but have been unable to get back on since 8.30 this morning.

Funny how DVLA will take your money BUT the police will also rightly take your money if you alter the spacing and put the obvious wrongly placed screws in.

Personalised number plates must be the biggest waste of money in the history of civilised society.

I pity anyone who feels the need to have one.
