Just ordered one of these for my snowboarding holiday.

I was sceptical about the quality, due to the extremely low price. However, the site has a video review with demo footage and im very impressed with the results!

This doesnt give top quality video like other camcorders, but at £14 its practically a disposable camera.

They also offer the cam with compatible Micro SD Card (8GB) for £19.98.
4GB + Cam = £16.99

All prices include delivery.

Cheap as chips for what it is. Ordered one.

Quite handy this for the price.

It would appear to be as good a quality picture as the far more expensive ones that are about. It doesn't really matter if you smash it up when you come off your mountain bike either !!! Comes with plenty of brackets aswell. The bike one can be used for a torch to sit in at night aswell so you get two for the price of one .... Groovy .
Ordered and Heat added Thanks
#4
Gonna be using it on my snowboarding holiday, the review says battery life is only an hour per charge, even if I get 30-40mins due to cold weather, it'll be worth it.

Stick one on your crash helmet at the next student protest and use it as evidence against any policemen that "are up for it" 8)X)

Or strap one to any fire extinguisher lying around?

Up for what? Stopping workshy scroungers from disrupting the lives of decent people and destroying property? Tossers.

Fair enough, just got one for the car.

good stuff 720x480 30fps... pretty close to DVD quality that. Good to see its not std 640x480 rubbish. 720x576 is PAL DVD so Id say you shud get pretty good quality on this.. Heat!!

I got one of these the last time they were posted (about £17) and the quality ok. The instructions that come with it are dreadful - so it's worth watching the demo video on Youtube by a guy that sounds remarkably like James May - I made some notes while watching this demo and it's now really easy to use. Can also be used as a webcam.

At £13.99 it's a steal.

Ordered one on Sunday, hopefully it will arrive before I leave for a snowboarding holiday on Saturday.

Just grabbed one for my son's birthday, he will love it thanks....

awful camera, fell apart soon as i received it.

Good deal, thanks. But as the video reviewer stated, this camera , drop out about 2 seconds of video between saving of 5 min. video files.
This 2 seconds might be very important if u unlucky and crashed in somebody.
I would buy it, but 2 sec. drops put me off.
hot anyway

I call BS.
The camera is encased in a sealed aluminium tube - there is no way it could have just 'fell apart'.

If you don't buy it, you'll be missing 300 seconds out of every 5 minutes recorded ;)
An imperfect solution is better than no solution at all.

Tbh I can live with a 0.7% chance of missing the exact point of impact; often in insurance claims it's the 20 seconds immediately before the crash that you need. (to validate any dispute regarding road position, speed, signals, etc etc).
Case in point, even if in the reviewer's example he had been hit by said car, he had great footage prior to the collision clearly exonerating him of any wrong doing.

I got one of the 8Gb ones, I figured that for a penny short of twenty notes it was the best value. It'll be mounted to the bike and permanently powered once I figure out how best to wire it!

They went out of stock two days after they were last posted, but they do come back.

And yes, I'd love to know how it can possibly 'fall apart'. It's one of the sturdiest bits of kit I've bought for a while!

bought these a while back and not great quality sadly

Spot the police haters then!
Imagine doing a job where one or two people can sour the thoughts of thousands and subject you to daily prejudice for it.
Imagine a job where you can work your nuts off everyday, save lives, put your own life in VERY real danger and never get thanked for it.
Imagine job where you can almost get yourself killed and then have to just carry on as if nothing happened.

Now spend more time worrying about the feckless gits who sponge off the system or moan that the snow has prevented them getting into the office because 1cm is just too much, or the tube drivers who strike because they want TRIPLE PAY AND A DAY OFF for working one bank holiday when they already earn 45k pa

Touch fuse lit...........retreat!

PS...VOTED HOT. Looks good for the money, especially if you could see teh rig i had to set up when downhill mountain biking in the Alps only two years ago! Heavy, complicated, unreliable and VERY expensive!

Just for info I am yet to receive mine having ordered it the last time it was posted on HUKD...
Very disappointed as I've written and they've told me another has been sent out nearly a week ago...

Very impressed with the video quality for the price.
Might be able to compete with the chinese 'dashcam killer' vids that get posted from time to time. 8)

Calm down dears. Was just a flippant post, no need to start some sort of witch hunt.

on the other hand, you can use any mobile phone with decent camera. Would use my n95, which was lying on my shelf for about 6 months. Good solution though if you have a spare mobile phone.

You could fix one to your wheelchair to film a policeman tipping you out of it, workshy scrounging disabled students just asking for it mutter mutter grumble grumble...

Recommend that you buy a micro sd card separately (at least class 4), the cards supplied with these cameras drop the odd frame

The idea of taping my Samsung s to the handlebars of my bike & then riding down a cobbled street or muddy track does not seem to be a viable option.

I meant using this as a car camera

Bought one of these before, the button broke after a few uses and my computer couldnt read from the camera via usb

Well, mine arrived today. I'm impressed with the build quality and functionality. Can't judge the image quality just yet as it's too dark. Will try it out tomorrow. I've adapted the mount and stuck it on my helmet (I mean my snowboarding crash helmet you smutty lot!!)
#38
Thought you'd taken the "Home Movie" idea posted above to the extreme there :P
#39
If you're worried about the 2 seconds lost, just get two of them and start them a minute after each other. Then you'll get no loss whatsoever.

Neat little package, although mine failed to accept a re-charge. Replacement awaited from 7DS, with their, so-far, efficient ticket-and-freepost return system. I did shoot 1 hour in-car on the factory charge, and the result is certainly useable for 'cockpit video' etc. The brief gaps between 5min segments are acceptable to me. Colour rendition is surprisingly good for the investment. Trying to figure how to attach cam to my cat without losing the payload, or the vehicle.......
