Cheerful?
#3
certainly cheap

At this price I'm wondering about using this as a dedicated remote for Showbox to Chromecast rather than via my phone.

Hot OP .. DX.com is American .. whats the P&P on these things to London/UK?

Wasn't there an equally terrible tablet with similar specs posted in the past 48 hours around the same price? That won't take 4 months to arrive?

I have a feeling Showbox would run slow due to the large number of images it caches and the low memory of the device. Also, the resistive touchscreen will feel horrible to use if you're used to modern capacitive on your smartphone.

For £20 though, it might be worth a shot. Let us know if you pull the trigger.

To buy or not to buy? That is the question.

These are the sort of things that waitresses should have at restaurants to take orders. They would be good for embedded kiosk information at galleries and such. I hate seeing iPads wasted in H&M as dedicated survey machines.

Was gonna get one for my Mum as she keeps hassling me to buy her an iPad ( and I know she won't use it much after a week or so), but no way in hell is she getting something where a slight glance means you think the name of it is "Gonad" !!

Hm, might have a look just for films - but the resistive touch screen kills it for anything else for me
#12
Resistive screen means you might as well spend twenty quid on a nice piece of mdf and poke that for a while to see if it does anything good.

If you search "andoid tablet" on the DX site there are 12 sub £30 tabs at the mo' with THIS ONE which has a capacative screen & the ability to use micro SD's to expand up to 32gb. Do you (or anyone else) think this would be a better option for Showbox to Chromecast via AllCast or Avia?

I bought a similar product from DX before, it took 4 weeks to arrive during the Xmas period... Touchscreen isn't the best as you can even see in the vid and speaker(s) are rubbish. But can confirm it did run Chromecast through Bubbleupnp... Micro SD for media only. Bought so kids stay off the more expensive tabs!!!

Resistive screen will make this feel poor to use.

Nearly a good deal for adults (kids get far more out of them) but the screen is an absolute no no really.

hmm a cheap 20£ Chinese tablet, money well spent. .....

Someone close the window, it's chilly in here brrrrrr
#17
bought something similar once it went straight in the bin .....moral of the story don't bother waste of time ;)
#18
Good price but the resistive screen is a definate no no. Even at this price

After the dizzy heights of 23C now it's below freezing.... Shall take a hint and close the window....
