Wouldn't buy this unless it was well reviewed. Better choice, cheaper scopes with reviews at ebaybanned website.

Not to be the bearer of bad news but I'm pretty sure these toys (not the sight obviously) are now illegal in the UK and anyone who imports them can end up in fairly deep water. Might be worth checking before you place any orders.
#6
If you're after sights then browsing the ebanned website reveals the following obvious misprice...

http://www.ebairsoft.com/element-dual-role-optical-sight-1x4x-p-3411.html

at $0.00 with free postage that sounds like a real bargain!

I'm a low budget filmmaker and could actually do with a couple of the guns at Focalprice for a short.

Can you actually just buy these and have them shipped over? Am I going to get a load of aggro from customs or anyone?

Any advice gratefully received!

I think you have to be registered with an airsoft/paintball site now to buy the guns themselves and I doubt they'd register you with the cheap junk shown on here. A good airsoft rifle will cost you upwards of £130. I don't think there's any laws surrounding accesories such as these but imports of the airsoft guns themselves are liable to result in you either not recieving the product or recieving and having to pay a fee slapped on top. There are uk websites such as Zerooneairsoft who import & sell them but I'm fairly sure you still have to be registered with a uk skirmish site. It's great fun but quite the expensive hobby.

What do these actually do? I mean the laser dot sight, not the M16.

Going off its name, i'm guessing its a sight with a laser dot. Just a guess, like.

One would need to register with a local site to buy airsoft guns yes, I wouldn't advise anyone to buy one unless they have been to one to have a go (as its illegal to purchase GUNS without papers, unless you are going for two tone versions).

UKARA website Arnies Airsoft, UKAN (iirc) are good places to search for local sites around uk and legislations into getting into this sport.

I used to be heavily into it and spent ££££'s on gear..... Absolutely amazing sport, you meet SO many different types of people you would normally never meet on the street etc. Generally good atmosphere and games are all about HONESTY, which is uncommon nowadays in societies..
Basic guns range from £60-200, more advanced ones are £200-500+, it can be modified in certain ways to suit ones play and can rack up to ££££ per gun..
Then you have gear, side arm/s, consumables (gas, ammo, batteries, grenades, smokes)..
It is not as simple as paintball as you get rolls like assault, support, scout, sniper etc. With tactics of camouflage, attack/defence techniques..

Anyway, as said in my OP not for everyone's cup of tea, but its a heads up for people who are interested in this sorta thing :)
This item is (if you play MW2) like the holographic sight you get after a red dot sight.

P.S. If your interested in this kind of thing feel free to ask questions or search on the websites mentioned above to get more info, always happy to support this sport.

It's a 'red dot' sight, not a laser.

Basically you have a little window, with a red dot projected onto the window such that when the gun is moved the dot will continue to show where the bullets will go. (this is a simplification as there is lots more in terms of calibration etc)

i will buy one and give it to a police officer next time im at the airport, their MP5's do look a bit dull.

G36's in West Yorkshire.

Most of them have red dot sights on their weapons these days anyway.

This guy is seriously joking. But seriously, all jokes aside, it's possible.

Do you have to get so many kills with a red dot sight before you can buy this?

It's not a laser. It's a sight with an illuminated optic. Perfectly legal to buy over the counter in the UK or import from Asia.

Replica Imitation Firearm laws are a little more complicated though and you cannot buy a replica firearm that is of normal size and isn't brightly coloured in the UK (or import) unless you have a valid reason that you can prove. Either using the RIF in some kind of film/theatre production and the license for such, be a licensed importer/retailer or be registered with some kind of club showing you have a valid reason for purchasing said RIF. In a nutshell.

nice find. thanks. wouldn't mind one of these for my rifle... for display. hah!

You wont need any documents to buy sights for a rifle, silencers on the other hand is more of a grey area iirc, as it is considered along the lines of a 'barrel'.

The advantage over this and a normal red dot is open reflex red dots can get dirty very quickly as the light is exposed to the elements, the enclosed red dots are very large in size. This is the compact version if you like.
The difference in pattern is so that the sight can be seen easier (for the shooter) as it has a halo around the dot.
The original ones (with is £200+) I think also has different patterns for different rifle set ups.

Hi All,

Violent Crimes reduction act (VCRA) prohibits the sale and purchase of realistic immitation firearms such as those used in Airsoft. UKARA was set up to govern the sale of these firearms so the sport of airsoft could continue.

You do not need a special dispensation to purchase sights (such as this) however anything that looks like it could fire a round for real will need that permission. Permission is attained by becoming a member at a site and visiting 3 times in no less than 2 months. (or soemthing like that).

These sights are toys. regardless of how real they look, if you were to attach it to a real mp5/G36 for the wessies or m4, the recoil of the 1st shot would shake the thing to peices!

Airsoft is a wonderful honour based teamsport that i would encourage anyone to try. Pop along to your local site where im sure the site owner would be happy to rent a set of gear to you.

This is a decent price for this scope if real, however i sniff cheap china rip off - if that's teh case, it's not really worth it.

I live in Norway now and the Gun laws are much more relaxed. I go Clay pigeon Shooting and I just turn up pay my money and get handed a Shot Gun and a bunch of Shells. No ID or joining required. My work mate drives around with his Russian made Semi-Auto Shot Gun in the Boot of his car with no worries. There is more Guns in Norway per Head of population than the US but very little problems.

Im sure the Government has its own agenda by taking away everyone right to own a Gun.

holographic sights on the m16 are more accurate
#35
Has anyone bought one, can comment on quality?
I'd also like to know what the width of the inside of the mount is to know if it'll fit on my air rifle if anyone is able to say?
It looks broadly the right shape but may only be compatible and intended for the weapons mentioned.
#36
Air rifles are normally 10/11mm these are 20/25mm or something..? I.e. they won't fit on an air rifle unless with adaptors which you can buy for about £5-10.

20mm weaver mount required for the optics

this is a hot price! these sights are normally so expensive! if only they had them a few years back when I was in airsofting, all the accessories for the gun cost so much extra! This was one of the sights I had always wanted as well, but hadn't been able to afford back then.
