Am imagining that this is really an indoor helicopter given the size - wonder if it is genuine 3 channel or the 3 channel that Silverlit promise on so many of their models which is not really 3 channel at all. Would also like to know whether these are any good - reviews anyone? If it is any good then this is a very decent price.

OP where did you get the picture from? as that one doesn't look like it has a tail rotor, so only 2 chanel.
#3
Picture was from google images, if only 2 channel will revise post
#4
these are infra red so distance will be very poor.
#5
is this worth a try??

Well I've got this one (in pink!) bought it a couple of months ago but can't give a review I'm afraid as it's a Chrimbo pressie.

Box does say 3-CONTROL BANDS, INFRARED CONTROL HELICOPTER if that's any help to anyone. It doesn't have a tail rotor and has about 5-6 minutes of flight time after 20-30 minutes of charging.

Dont get it..

I had one.. Control is reasonable, not 100% sure on the term 3-Channel but I can tell you that it does not have a tail rotor, It basically goes around in circles alot but you can adjust the balance slightly to enable straight line flight. Distance is ok but battery life is poor IMO.
Its OK for the money and would buy another but to be honest I think I would spend a little more and grab one of the ones off play.com.

These are rubbish, lucky if lasts more than few hours before bits fall off, although a good price for this tat.

I had a RC Helicopter from Amazon and it was £16 and a great laugh. I still fly it indoors with my boy. Not sure if this one is anygood but the whole thing about these things is great. I tried flying mine outdoors once and it was pointless.

This is a 3-Channnel helicopter

I'm pretty sure that these are only 2- channel (left&right and up&down). A lot of these are labelled up as 3-channel because they have 3- channels to choose from....A, B or C so you can have three helicopters flying at once without conflicting with each other.

Spend a little more and get a Syma S107. Its a proper 3 channel IR heli with Gyro and you can buy the spares from the suppliers web site when you crash it.

Think some of you need to lower your hopes/expectations and take another look at the price... £7.99 is not going to buy you a 'proper' RC heli... this is a toy to amuse the kids and that's it. Any reasonable person shouldn't expect anything more for the price of 3 pints of beer. Tbh, I'm sitting here shaking my head at all the questions... 2/3 channel, spares, etc, etc. It's a toy for the kids ffs!

You can also get generics of the syma for £14 delivered from chinese sellers on fleabay, the quality of build as excellent....they take about 10 days to arrive

I was going to buy the Gyro Apaphe from Play £17.99 for my son. Is it any good? Our previous remote control plane and helicopter lasted about 10 minutes as is snapped when crashed. I didn't want a repeat performance!!!

The Apache is good for indoor use and has a gyroscopic system which keeps it level, which is good for beginners.

These helicopters are ace.
I bought myself one for xmas ( im 40 )
Just pop a bit of tin foil ball underneath to add a bit of weight and it flies a treat.
one charge lasts about 5 mins and I could fly it around the house for ages.
Takes a while to master - but once you have its brill for buzzing the wife and kids :-)
