I have a DC15 Animal Dyson & I wouldn't change it for the world. I love it to bits.

Not sure why people are not liking them. Its a hot deal for me!

They just don't work very well. The suction is OK, but not spectacular. The rotary brush in the cleaning head is rubbish being very poor at picking up small 'bits' from carpets. To be fair, you can unclip the hose from the main body and use it with the supplied tools - that bit works OK.

I think there are different variants of DC07. I have the basic one which is the one mentioned above. The 'allergy' and 'animal' variants may well be better but I think they are a bit more expensive.

This is the second Dyson I have owned and they don't last (this has been reported in the consumer press before now.) I don't think they are worth the high price.

We have a couple at home, including one of these. Not my personal choice - I think they're amazing but the hearing damage isn't worth it.

I wouldn't buy a Dyson now just for the fact he moved the manufacturing abroad. He's a sell-out, and I don't like that.

And tell me, which manufacturer still builds in the UK?

Last year I took my 10 or so year old Henry to my local vacuum repair shop for a new flex, when I went through to the repair area at the rear of the shop there were rows and rows of Dysons waiting repair, It was like a scene from the film iRobot!!!

Perhaps because you can actually repair a Dyson, whereas you cannot repair many other cheap vacumm cleaners? Ok nobody disputes the ruggedness of Henry...we've all done our fair bit of races riding downhill on it's back. :whistling: But compared to the plethora of vacuum cleaners out there....how many of the cheap ones out there get repaired....rather than being dumped because repairing them is not cost effective?

Also, can any vacuum cleaner repeairer using this site confirm what usually goes wrong in Dysons? Is it something simple as the belt?

That's just my point, I really thought Dyson was gonna be different, he would of still earnt a lot of money keeping it in the UK.

Well I find it ironic...people want the cheapest possible (the whole purpose of this website), but they get angry when manufacturing goes abroad. Would you happy to buy a £30 kettle Made in the UK, which does exactly the same thing as a £5 Made in China? Look what happened to Rover (the first company that crops in mind)....

Yes it's true...Dyson had a great invention, defeated a lot of hurdles and succeeded, showed to the world that the British are still capable people, boosted the national pride, stood for his country....but at some point money gets to the head, and you can never avoid that.

Now he's just another businessman, only interested in making more money. You can despise that, but it's just history repeating itself. At least he got rich by contributing something useful to society...not like the Tesco boss - he got rich by flooding the market with **** labelled as food!

good price... got mine for £109 at Amazon not long ago - only thing wrong with it after one day of use was that the plastic skirting snapped off one edge - hardly touched it!
