Cold - but know one saying why - strange?

Must be alot of sheep on 'ere tonight!
#3
i think it might be because u can get newer models cheaper
#4
i posted this deal when argos were selling for the same price and it was getting cold voted then aswell this was one of the posts

One of the most useless vacuums ever made, I went to the launch of this and everyone was going yeah so whats good about it, no one could use the damn thing properly and it weighs an absolute TON! hurts after 10 mins.

They they made so many of these thinking it will shift in bucket loads and it never, they stopped making this nearly 2 years ago and there is still loads of stock about even now.

It may be a good price for it but a TOTALLY AVOID! PRODUCT

Over-rated, over-priced and under par as is the case with dysons IMO, the marketing hype has paid off for dyson though as people seem to flock to buy them like sheep.

I saw the TV adverts again and again but after a couple of Dyson's never again. It looks good though.

Cold, treat yourself to a Henry and save the rest.
#7
quite possibly the worst vacuum ever made, on par with the Hoover One.

James Dyson was on a different planet when he designed this one. I was at the launch in London and everyone was going

And Yeah ?, whats good about it, it's naff even the DSG guys were like ahum, its ok at best

good vacuum, but you can get a DC24 all-floors from FreeNet electrical for £176.99 delivered at the moment

I have the DC14 and love it, but no experience of the DC15. This model is expensive, no doubt, and I can accept there are cheaper alternatives, Dyson, or otherwise. That's about as worked up as I can get about a vacuum cleaner, so I am a touch puzzled by the extreme over-reaction every time a Dyson appears on this site!

So. I looked at some other opinions....
eg. Amazon - their reviews are usually less silly than some, and I have been able to post negative reviews on items without them being moderated, so I treat them as more reliable than some - here is a link to the reviews of the "Animal" version:

Nothing wild or wonderful! A spectrum of users... a spectrum of opinion, predominantly favourable. Tells me something, something I can start to form an opinion with.

Compare that with the extreme negative posts here - Whatever it is like, and with ANY product, highly charged opinions like those that have blown up on this thread usually make me step back and think there is vested interest behind that sort of response - It is totally at odds with what I have found with Dyson, admittedly I wish they were being produced in the UK by UK a workforce, but they aren't. Still, common sense is nagging at me, and I am left wondering if there is more to the anti-dyson vigour than simple reasons like having bought a duff one or being messed about by customer service! It makes me wonder, but it isn't doing anything to put me off buying one.

I remain in complete puzzlement

I sometimes think people think its cool to hate Dysons. In my experience they are the best vacuum cleaners I have owned. I wasted money on cheap ones like the Bissells that always get voted hot on here and wished I had spent a few quid more on a dyson. Point above about the Henry is valid, they are good but I much prefer an upright.

Have DC14 Animal and Dc07 animal both are great - never had any problems with them and with the dog i'd go through paper bags in no time. Filters are easy to wash and dry and last
Makro have DC25 for 179.99+vat =£206

You went to the launch of a vacuum cleaner? Was there nothing better on the telly?
#13
Both Kankan101 and fab_1 went to the launch of the Dyson?

How interesting. :whistling:

£200 is not a bargain when better-performing machines are available for less than £100 so it has gotta be a tad cold. When they flog these off for £99 or less then it'll be a good deal.
