Managed to get the only one available out of 10 stores (4 of the extras) around here. Just as I was looking for a new vacuum. Thanks for the post, heat and rep added. :)

I couldn't disagree more based on my (unfortunately considerable) experiences but hey, everyones allowed their opinions.

I used a DC03 immediately after having vacuumed a carpet (as it had been for months) by a Henry. It filled the 'chamber' almost totally full with dust, dirt and who knows what (not carpet although they can munch cheaper ones). It was frankly, gross. My carpet has a normal pile, that is however considerably more than standard hard wearing office floor carpet tiles and so in my house based on that evidence a Henry isn't up to the job. A vacuum that doesn't pick much up is a waste of my time and electricity, no matter how long it might last for (that is before I replace it with something that does a better job!).

I agree with jamstaruk

Family and relative households are fans of the "Henry" which can cost £50 on deals, we buy the bags in bulk so cheap, powerful, they can last for 2 decades which I doubt most bagless vacuum cleaners can.

The vote is not about if you like/dislike the product, it is for the DEAL.

Voted hot for the HOT deal.

Fantastic deal, but here's a thought -
If your local Argos has stock - go to your local comet instead.
They have a price match policy where by they match the price and then reduce it by 10% of the difference.
It must be a retailer whin a 10mile radius and be in stock.

Currently the instore price of this model is showing as £359.95.
Thus they will match £178.99 then less 10% of the difference which is £18, total to pay £160.99.

Voted hot, brill deal, I have the DC14 animal but not the ball version and I have to say it's fantastic.

I haven't an animal by the way, just a 15 year old daughter with very long hair!!:giggle:

Personal opinion, bearing no relevence on whether this is a hot deal or not. You say that you paid £278, so by your own admission £178 must be a scorching hot deal?
I've never had any problems with my DC01. All you have to do is to replace the filters every so often.
#10
Managed to reserve one at a local store.
Thanks once again.
#11
available in glossop near manchester if anybody is local voted hot

top tip, find someone who works at Dyson and get a B spec (No different) picked up from the factory in Malmsbury for £80. and thats the Animal one too. And before anyone says, yes I know they don't make them in the UK anymore though they do ship them into the UK through their head office in Malmsbury so they have plenty :-)

It would be a good time to use price match policies would it not? "We'll beat it by 10% of the difference" An extra £17 off.
#14
Voted hot but im in Northamptonshire & they have none in northamtonshire or Bedford or Leicester.

Hot but very cold for me.

has anyone actually felt the qualityof one of these?

5 Year guarantee as standard, so Dyson must be quite confident in the quality of their products, whilst other manufacturers dont seem to be quite so confident!

The Ball is the worst of the Dyson incarnations; DC07 is the best one...
#18
It won't matter one jot to most but I won't touch anything made by James Dyson. The hypocrite banged on about a renaissance in British manufacturing then promptly upped sticks in 2002 and moved production of his ear-bashing noisy vacuum cleaners to Malaysia making 800 of his staff redundant in the process. Of course he now makes even more money by using cheap labour but he won't be getting any of mine. I'm sure he must be crying into his pillow every night at that thought but hey it's his own fault! :whistling:

Managed to reserve one locally.
Excellent find :)

It may be a personal opinion, but "Which" seems to agree about the quality of Dyson's.

They may have changed their minds recently as I don't read their magazine in a while admittedly.

I am looking for a deal on a "Henry" as i've used them, and beat any other 'Style over substance' vacuum that i've used.

Great find.... I snapped one up :-)
#23
Just been out and picked mine up. Now my Mrs can vacuum in half the time and I won't have to wait as long for her to make my cups of tea :)
#24
Just got the last remaining one in the Bristol area, I had to travel 21 miles to Worle near Weston-Super-Mare mind you. Read a few reviews apparently this has more suck than Monica Lewinsky so if that`s good enough for Bill Clinton this should do for me. Cracking price as well I have 2 cats so this should sort the fur issue out nicely !

Comet refusing to price match I bought one last sunday and reserved one at Argos.

LOL. They are probably the worst retailer of the lot.

I have one reserved, but am unsure.

I love Dysons, my DC04 is going strong after about 7 years, but the hose is a little knackered (Repaired twice, my fault it broke).

Do I go and pick it up or not..... I am not sure if I need it? :?
#27
I would I love mine plus 5yr guarantee

Back on phone now to them

voted hot but no stock to be found within reasonable distance of warrington , cheshire

Rubbish.
At worse they could have done a return and re-sale.

The difference was over £100 they then went on to quote that short term prices was exempt from price match policy.

Writing a complaint letter not that it will have any impact :-(

I think the reconditiond bissells are better deal had dyson in past very good but heard the newer dysons not as good so went for bissell
#35
Funny. I could not collect my reserved one today (to much to do). Tried to order another this afternoon, but no stock.

Just tried again, and reserved one, so I assume the orders due for collection at the latest (Saturday) have just been released back to the system...

Right now I have until End of Monday to decide if I want one..lol

I hoovered the living room on Friday. Opened up my new dyson last night and gave the room the once over (very roughly as only trying it out) - and wow! what was picked up was disgusting, we couldn't believe it! I'm definitely a huge fan so far.

Good luck - you never know.
Address it to Hugh Harvey MD, at least then you should get a swift response, and i would also attach a screen print of the Argos offer as proof along with a copy of your reciept.

As you only purchased it 10 days ago, have you considered trying to take it back to Comet for a refund and purchasing the one in Argos?
#38
Voted HOT! Got my Dyson yesterday [not the one posted, but link drew the attention to several on offer in Argos]. Wouldn't have got one for this price without HUKD, so thanks again...

Well, I hope you bought a vacuum cleaner which is built in the UK then?

Very hot deal!
