I was going to post about this earlier, but got stuck in a 3 hour meeting this morning.
Currys and Dixons beat everyone by miles on the price for the DC19 or DC20.
I had a long chat with a Dyson chap on monday. He said that the new range is more power efficient and there is better integrated tool storage.

I ordered mine in store to get a credit deal (all stores out of stock near me).
Went for the 10 months interest deal - worked out that I pay £22.90 on interest.
If I'd gone for the the 6 months interest free then I would have to have paid a £19 admin charge!

sorry guys this deal has now ended and th eprices have gone back up to full prices.

Picked my DC20 Animal up and actually used it! (shame to get it dirty)
Quieter than previous Dysons I've heard - except for a horrible high pitched whine.
Very light, but substantially built.
Stores small and takes all tools on board, except for hard floor tool and mini-turbine.
Some of the stored small tools did ping off a few times, which was a bit tedious.
When the hard tube is fully extended, I can reach so far, that cleaning time is reduced loads.
On stairs is excellent - I used the mini-turbine head with brushbar turned off, straight on to the flexi hose (with the hard tube removed). Quickest stairs clean ever!
Afterwards - no horrible dust smell and my lungs were lovely.
Until of course I emptied the thing. Maybe I'm clumsy, but I can never seem to empty bagless vacuums without coating my lungs and clothes with dust.

Whats the reliabiltiy of these like now, have heard horror stories about the first dysons?
#8
Which? used to state that they wouldn't recommend Dysons because of their poor reliability. Now, since Dyson give you a 5 year warranty, Which? will recommend - hopefully a company wouldn't give a 5 year warranty on products that would be unreliable.

When I spoke to Dyson they did say that all warranty queries can go straight to Dyson, who will then arrange pickup/repair/return themselves - so no having to deal with a Currys store, or Mastercare on an 0870 number.

So far, my Dyson has been 100% reliable - during the single time that I have used it, it has not broke down.

Get a Henry and pocket the difference. My folks Dyson is always breaking

i did a test with a charles (bigger than a henry) and a dyson dc25 animal, and although not a fan of dyson after my first experience, i was amazed at how much better it cleaned on a patch of dog hair'd carpet against the Charles, now thinking about getting a dyson again....when ive saved up enough!!!!
