Amazing! Just put in an order, but I doubt it will be honoured, great find!

you should have ordered it yourself - got it delivered and then put it up on here!
you know some idiot is only gonna phone up to 'confirm' the price!

#27
It was the link for it at the reduced price but they have now put it back up. I managed to get one first thing, hopefully delivered to local store tomorrow, will update.
#28

Hopefully orders will be honoured

just had a call from sainsburys to say there was an error on their site and they will not be honouring it! :(
#31
cancelled....
#32
mine too, although they say that will refund my card in 3-5 days.

I didnt think they were supposed to debit my card until they had completed the transaction?
#33
My understanding is if they take the money they have agreed to sell it at that price and the contract is complete. I got my call whilst I was in the middle of a noisy coffee shop. If my card is debited I'm on the phone straight away. Had a free climbng frame from B&Q years ago because they did the same thing.

Sainsburys terms and conditions state - 7.1 We take payment from your card at the time we receive your order, once we have checked your card details and stock availability.

I must admit that would be my understanding, the sale is complete once the money has changed hands. I think it's why online retailers will often take payment close to despatch time.
#35
Just seen this :

6.1 The Order Acknowledgement email and order number are not an order confirmation or order acceptance from us. Acceptance of your order and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on despatch to you of the products ordered unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled it.

So looks like they have covered themselves !
#36
They can put what they like but internet shopping works like this
offer good at an offer price, you accept that price and place and order. They accept you offer to purchase or decline your offer to purchase. They are not allowed to charge your card then say sorry we cocked up we did not mean to accept your offer!

A contract is made when they charge the card.

Just called trading standards.
