Picked 2 of these up yesterday in my local Aldi.
Seems like a decent price looking at the other stores currently selling them. Our last Dyson has lasted (still alive) approx 7 years, big old bulky thing needed to be upgraded :)

sister has just picked one up today as well so still have stock.

This was the Aldi in Westerhope, Newcastle.

Old model :(

Are you suggesting that a model of vacuum cleaner is basically worthless when its > 2 years old? Does the new version have go faster stripes or something? Its a frickin vacuum cleaner.

This deal dosnt exist......nothing on there website.

cant beat the dyson warranty. 5 years as standard. i got a dc14 upright that i lost the receipt for, motor started to get noisy, i called dyson and they confirmed from the serial number it was within warranty and i have an engineer coming on monday to repair/replace.

for this price and that warranty, you cant really go wrong

All the better to go with the sofa AV amp and the 'little man holding a bin' microphone.

I don't get what you mean.... this old model has only dual-core cyclones and .5l of storage space, I'm sorry but I wouldn't touch one with less than a sandysuck i9 with quad cyclones and at least 2kl of compressed storage. Why on earth is this getting such heat, pah.....

This is a good deal for those who would spend that sort of money on a vacuum.

That's not really true. Admittedly the build quality isn't as good as it used to be but they do work very well and have excellent suction.

The air watts for this model seem a bit poor http://www.dysonforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13

When it comes to Vacuum Cleaners 'Lighter' does NOT necessarily mean 'Better' right? .. these things should have some Weight? .. these things should have some Bulk? .. so .....

I doubt anyone wants to waste time & effort in Hoovering up anything just for their now New & Fancy Vacuum Cleaner to now fall down & fail on them right? .. or ..... & especially if/when they've now spent the 'Prime-Ends' of £200+ for the privilege in doing so right? (or am I mistaken in this ..... ) :-(

Lol. :-)

What you reckon? .. Dyson's at the best of times are Very Expensive/Over-Priced Vacuum Cleaners to say the least! (kinda reminds me of the iDevices too!, to be honest? lol) .. so even a 10p, or an only 5p Saving over any Excessively Priced Price-Tag will/is always guaranteed to attract some ridiculous amounts of Heat?, always! .. so ..... lol.

my 12 year mark 1 DC02 might disagree, but I'm heading more negative comments about the build quality of modern Dyson's.

Got one of these in lordshill Southampton, just got local store to check stock. Thanks OP

wow almost double the price of a Henry vacuum cleaner. get 2 Henry vacuum cleaners and get the job done twice as fast. ;)

I had a purple DC2? (I can't remember), that was sh*t ... lasted about 2 years.
Now I have the orange upright one for about 3 years, bits are starting to break but still working. The build quality is not so good.
When this one dies, I will look at other makes.

My Dyson dc02 is still going strong, with only a replacement cable reel, nearly 17 years on. A Vax pet model I bought for occasional flat turnarounds lasted about a dozen uses before going up in a cloud of smoke (suction tailed off terribly too). At £149 I think this Dyson is well worth the money, even if it's not a current model.
#33
can anyone automate this using raspberry pi ?
i'm too lazy to do vacuum .. :(
#34
Cool, kick ass future robot head gear (looking at thumbnail).

Bummer, it's a vacuum. Reality check.

(Henry still rules btw)

The original models were made in the UK I believe, while the recent ones are made in the far east with an appropriate drop in quality - quite possibly related to general cost cutting rather than the location.

180aw is fine. Dyson have throttled back on the AW lately, due to carpet damage - the serious high performers will suck the threads out of your carpet/rug (if you have any)

If you don't have a mate that works at Dyson, this is as good a deal as you will find
