I called dyson today to enquire as to the difference in a few different machines before making a decision on one. I'm glad I did....

During the call I was told that as a previous dyson customer I was entitled to extra discounts on the web prices ON TOP of the sale prices And they gave me an extra £40 off their web price and a free accessory tool kit worth £44!!

I brought an animal cy22 cinetic big ball with Rrp of £449 (£299 on offer online) for £259 with free next day delivery and free accessory pack with dusting tool, high reach tool and stubborn dirt tool for free - worth £44!

A quick google found this actually was cheaper by £40 than anywhere else (dyson, currys, John Lewis and Tesco have it at £299) PLUS I got the accessory pack too which is exclusive to dyson direct customers!

I was also told there were the following 'loyalty offers' suitable for me, (but all cylinder and uprights sold to existing customers will have extra discount from £10-£40!)
Cylinder total clean - £239.99
Cylinder cinetic musclehead - £359.99
Both with accessory pack too, and neither I can find cheaper elsewhere!!

I didn't enquire as to uprights or handhelds but it's worth a call to them before buying from elsewhere!!

Anyone voting cold... please tell me where I can get it cheaper... genuinely, I'll be thrilled!! If you can't, then don't vote cold just because you don't like dyson!

I haven't voted cold but anyone doing so would have done so if they feel it is still a lot of money for a vacuum cleaner inspite of Dyson claiming it is all rocket science. With numerous models and confusing claims Dyson have even overtook the energy suppliers for confusing customers with information overload with no real differentiation between products.

Q: Does a PlayStation 1 play games?

A: Yes.

Buy it as it's the same as all games consoles and cheaper.

Same principle for cars getting people from A - B.... but not everyone wants to drive round in a Dawoo!!

Dyson prices have been fluctuating a lot over the last couple of weeks, I ordered an upright dc75 from them 2 days before Christmas as it had £200 off, unfortunately they messed up the order, and I bought a dc40 from Argos instead on Boxing Day, as that was the one being promoted then.
I am a Dyson fan though ,happy to pay the extra for a decent vac with a 5 year labour and parts guarantee. Have had 3 dysons to date and the first two lasted in excess of 8 years each. Also despite them messing up my order and me buying elsewhere, they sent me the free cleaning kit with a selection of accessories to apologise.

Show me a vacuum cleaner that's as good as the Dyson big ball animal at cleaning carpet using the turbine head. I'll be very intrigued to know. I'm in the market looking for a good carpet vac but even a Henry is not as good on carpet as the big ball animal.

If you do know of anything, please do let us all know. I'd prefer to save money (like us all) on a good vac than be after a "brand"

My sister ordered this over the phone. She was happy with the performance, she was looking to replace her existing dyson. Didn't know it was exclusive to existing customers though. was going to give it a try

Thanks for your post.
I have rang them for V6 absolute & they gave me £10 discount was hoping they will be more generous!! & the tool kit as well.
Still better to buy direct from them & get some extras.
Hot from me.

During the call I was told that as a previous dyson customer I was entitled to extra discounts on the web prices ON TOP of the sale prices

When you say previous dyson customer, does that mean bought from dyson or you bought a dyson from currys/argos etc?

May I answer!!
I have bought my dyson from Sainsburys 6 years ago.
When I rang them today, they asked for my name and postcode & got my details.
These details they obtain, coming from my first registration with them, after my first purchase.

What Phone number did you ring, is it the freephone number on their website, 0800 298 0298?

Glad to have helped some people here, despite the negativity from others!!

Basically if you have ever owned a dyson, brought from anywhere, and registered it for the warranty, you get the discount
Discount is not customer specific, it's model specific, so when you call ask for the models with the best discount xx

Great to get free stuff - but also consider buying via Dyson Outlet for rock bottom prices for manufacturer reconditioned - just got a V6 total clean for @175, it looks new to me, works perfectly and comes with a one year guarantee (which turned into two years when I registered online)

I got offered the dc41 for £239.99 included one free attachment. I have owned 3+ dysons. i checked the website and the dc41 £239.99 was the price on the website after I put the phone down. I kept my dyson dc40 bought from a retailer and made a complaint about trying to con me and managed to get the free home cleaning kit.

The prices on their eBay site seem to change quite dramatically.
I posted a refurbed DC41 mk2 just over 2 weeks ago £159 delivered with a 2 year warranty, now its selling for £209.
I ordered one, the refurb is brand new in all but name, but you're only now saving £30 over a new one so maybe not worth the saving? But if you hang around for a few weeks they'll put on another offer.

Excellent deal - ordered the cy22. They offered the discount immediately, didn't even check if I was an existing customer. Thanks for the heads up - great saving and extras.

£10 off V8 + free tool - better than a poke in the eye - especially as I bought the 360 eye at the beginning of January - it was so bad I sent it back and they still treated me as a customer - kudos to Dyson - the V8 is so much better than the dumb robot - so far so good :-)
