Not a bad product if you want a cordless. Works well and picks up everything in its path. The accessories are worthwhile too. Battery life is poor and needs constant recharging, so not a replacement for the main cleaner. Have seen cheaper on eBay from the Dyson outlet store (£215) so might be worth waiting if you're not desperate for one now.

I am looking for cordless vacuum but still unsure about v6... it's dyson so will work but would it work well enough? what is battery like after 1 year? is it still 20 min or more like 60% of it.

If it's 1 year guarantee, then it's a refurb. Some reports of getting a brand new item but most come in a black refurb box

this is £238.99 via PC World business but topcashback are offering 2.3% cb which is £5.50 so a few quid back. TCB only offering 1.65% thru currys

This is available on the Dyson/Ebay site, seems ok if you want a saving and don't mind refrub. Its got a less powerful motor (20w as opposed to 50w for the Absolute) but batery should last a bit longer.

The Dyson website suggests all the v6 range has the same battery consumption even with the absolutes more powerful motor head. Good saving tho but it is a lesser model and only has 1 head

I'm just relying on info from a previous post and I paraphrase 'Without the motorised head fitted, they all run for 20 mins. The motorised head on the animal is only 20w, and you still get 20 mins when using it. With the total clean it's 35w and gives you 16 mins, and the absolute is 50w and gives you 14 mins. They are very similar machines, bar they just have differing tools/heads that come with them that in turn affect how long they can operate between charges'.

no, you're entirely correct. just went back onto the dyson website and at the very end of a blurb about the absolute and 20 minute run time it says " (up to 14 minutes with motorised floor tool attached)" I've just ordered this model and I'm concerned that 14 minutes may not quite cut it!!! oO i feel i need more power for all the children and 2 dogs tho

This is the one you want, with 40 minutes on one charge...but what a ridiculous price for a vacuum cleaner! oO

Agree. They refurb. I'd rather pay more for a new one

It doesn't run forty mins with motorised head either. Think it's around 20 if I recall correctly

Ah I see lol. I wasn't sure what you meant. I'd love a v8 absolute but the price is scary!

This is what I've found; http://www.dyson.co.uk/vacuum-cleaners/cordless/dyson-v6/dyson-v6-absolute.aspx

if you have wood or tiled floors you want the total clean or the fluffy as they come with a much better powered brush. read the included tools list VERY carefully. you get £10 off the dyson web price if you ring and ask for it.
#23
I got the V6 refurbished from the Dyson eBay outlet site. although it states 1 year warranty, if you register it online via their website it gives you 2 years.

I gather thats only if the refurb machine you've received wasn't registered by its previous owner

This is currently my dilemma as I want the fluffy head but the absolute has 150% more brush bar power whereas the total clean only has 75%
