Should we worry how many of these show up refurbished if we bought new?

I think you would be surprised how many items in general go faulty and just thrown away in the bin, at least dyson are repairing and reselling. It's a cost effective way to still make money for any business

I got one from the Dyson eBay outlet and the items come in a plain box but otherwise look pristine! All items covered in plastic and not a sign of use.

Whats the difference between this and the Fluffy? Got no pets but house is nearly all hard floors

I also got a refurb 3 years ago, it was in a plain box but the unit looked brand new I couldn't find a mark on it. It's had some hammer and is still going strong. They are expensive but well worth the money, I got through loads of cheap ones, then I bought this. I always buy refurbed stuff direct from manufacturers now. Karcher stuff is well cheap direct. Thanks for posting. Heat

I've had with the faulty charger when come out the box. But they just send new one for replacement. Refurbish come with black plain packaging box and no model name on the stick. Otherwise all are the same. Battery life same 20 min as per spec. Bought during black friday with same price

Most are just customer returns. Mine was in original packaging and brand new, just opened box. Hot!!

I agree. Although I spent more then you folks and got the V8 for £290. Brilliant thing and now the living room stays clean where before no one could be bothered to go upstairs to get the big old heavy Hoover.

I think the brush head has less bristles so it doesn't get clogged with pet hair. It will work ok on wooden hard floors and it is a great price.

The Absolute model is available for £188.99 and the motor is far more powerful than the animal, also get a few more attachments. Mine came in the retail box and had a 2year guarantee rather than the 1 year advertised.

There are other models on their site from £143 at the moment. Grab yourself a bargain.

may I ask where u got the v8 for 290? is it the animal or absolute

Dyson refurbs are great. If you don't like it you can return in 30 days no problem. Mine worked perfectly - do be aware of the various head differences/sets.

The fluffy has the spongy type head for hard floors. If you have some carpet but mainly hard floors I'd personally go for a total clean or a fluffy

I purchased this last year, money well spent!
The only issue I had was the filter had a strong smell otherwise no sign of use pristine condition.
Contacted dyson via call was sent two extra filters for free and the advisor registered it, two year guarantee. Brilliant machine!
Yes it has a 20 minute battery life but as everyone in my household magically now hoovers more often (because it's no longer a chore) 20mins is all you need, if not stick it on charge and get something else done whilst you wait.
A friend of mine has the V6 Total Clean which is suberb, if given the chance I'd definitely go for that purely for the stronger motor and the soft roller head

Bought the refurb DC41 mk2 about 3 weeks ago from the outlet site for £159, arrived quickly and looks like new, I can't see anything that would suggest it isn't brand new. Registered the machine with Dyson and the 'guarantee' is now till 2021 oO is 'guarantee' the same as warranty?

I got a v6 absolute for the same price just before Christmas so this is pretty steep... I got mine from dyson outlet too

Mrs works at a retailer that sells them so got staff discount. Its the animal version. I really wanted the Absolute for the hard floor cleaner head as we have all hard floors down stairs but the animal brush head works brilliantly.

so is this worth the extra money over the handhelds they were posting at Xmas for £99?

Depends on your intended usage. For me, absolutely.

I got 5 years guarantee with my DC41 mk2 refurb when I registered online - think it must be a glitch, but I have it in writing, guaranteed till December 2021 :)

ok, I'll rephrase.... in what way is this better than the deal posted in December for £99? apart from the long attachment.

I thinks its because many people buy to try products directly from Dyson,, & they have "Dyson 14 day money back guarantee" all with free delivery both ways!

Those ones didn't have the large motorised head did they? I thought they just had the smaller one and crevice tool. If so that's your answer

All manufacturers do this and I'm not sure about dyson but I know cameras are preferred refurbished by manufacturers because they get calibrated properly and not just off the line, if dyson do the same your refurbished dyson could be more efficient.

They didn't even have the mini motorised head. Basically two totally different machines. This one is a cordless vacuum which can be used as a handheld. The V6 Trigger which was £99 was just a handheld.

I disagree with all due respect.

Products are not being made cheap

But

Repairs cost is ridiculously high for end users which force them to buy another instead.
#39
Companies like dyson charge £65 for a repair including parts so wouldn't say that's a high ?
#40
I can't decide if this is preferable or I've heard on hukd that dyson offer a customer loyalty for previous Dyson owners of £10 discount to this model making it £189.99, a guaranteed 2 year guarantee (some seem to get 2 years on a refurb model, others not. It's looking to me that it's if the item you've bought was registered by the previous owner or not) and a free tool.

What to do. What to do
