just to note that's a refurb and you get 1 year on that, not a bad deal of course :)

It would be interesting to see how many people get the 2 years on the these refurbs. If the unit has been shipped back with in a few days it's unlikely the original buyer would register it? Mine was mint - got the 2 years - great machine so far...

Can anyone comment on this vs the animal?
I'm unsure whether to snap this up or wait for the animal in the hopes it'll drop to £199 again. Worth the hypothetical extra £30??

I'd pay an extra £40 and get the total clean (direct from dyson) just reduced to £268 today however I dunno if there is soon to be something going on with the absolute prices as they removed it from their website about three weeks ago so I dunno if it's about to drop a fair whack as well. I'm holding out to see what they do. I'd not go for the animal personally.
#7
P.s they have an absolute with extra tools (absolute exclusive) brand new on outlet for £270.

Absolute is 14 mins run time with the motorised head which put me off it completely

I thought They all did 20 with non motorised and 16 or so with? I know absolute has more brush bar power but was my understanding they all same with motor heads.

It's definitely not long though the suction on normal mode seems to be pretty good so I don't think there would be a lot of requirement to use max mode.

The absolute has 150% more brushbar power so it drains the battery faster. It's in really small print in brackets on the dyson website under a pic bragging about 20 mins run time. It'll still be 20 mins with other tools and 6 mins on max mode.

So many little tweaks between models makes this a tricky purchase lol

Definitely is! That's why it's taking us so long lol. I was reading reviews on animal on dyson website and dyson said in response to one of the reviews that animal is fifteen to twenty mins run time as well. So confusing!

Currys and Argos have the v6 Adsolute down to £249 and half price accessory pack at currys while dyson and when I last checked were selling it for £449.
#17
This was dysons reply to one of the several one star reviews...I'm still favouring the total clean I think.

"However, to help with the cleaning Dyson have introduced two different modes which your vacuum can be placed into, the first of which is standard, is the usual operation power of the machine and from this you should receive between 15 - 20 minutes per use. Secondly you have "max", this increases the suction power of the unit by almost double but does reduce the battery time in the unit

Dyson have taken absolute off their site for some reason. They removed it about three weeks ago but I've no idea why yet. They are now linking to the total clean when searching for the absolute. They also selling it new in their outlet with extra tools cheaper than currys but dunno what the reason is

The animal disappeared for a short period too, could only link to the animal extra. (because there aren't quite enough options!)

Point of note, I've just spotted the absolute on the dyson ebay page as a brand new option for £269.99 where they usually only sell refurbs. Wierd...

Just looked on the dyson website. Don't know what's happening but there's only 8 cordless vacuums listed across all of the v6 and v8 models.

Noted that the absolute on ebay now has a tool. Bag and is called an 'absolute exclusive' with 'up to 17 minutes run time with the motorised head' and the total clean on the dyson website says 'up to 16 minutes with motorised floor tool attached'
I strongly dislike the whole 'up to' thing. I'm assuming too many people have complained that the promised run times aren't being met, which would explain so many refurbs??

Bought one last week off the ebay outlet for £179. It's like new. Was 1yr guarantee not 2 but I have heard of people getting lucky.

Loving the cleaner, it's so quick and convenient. Never want to go back to plugging in and dragging around a heavy vaccum! Used to hate vaccuming (obviously) but now we both want to do it as its so easy and satisying haha.

Really disappointed with what arrived for me. Heavily marked. Only 1 year warranty. :(

I bought this on the eBay refurb site. Only a 1 year warranty but 179. It depends what you are after, I think the 2 year warranty and the fact it is brand new is worth the extra 50 not to mention you will be able to return it to Argos rather than posting to dyson it if something goes wrong. Hot for me!

I think you can return if you're not happy and try again? Ours was almost perfect- I searched it and found one tiny mark and also there was a little dust in the bin. If I'd bought it new full price I would have been happy with the condition (apart from the dust showing it's been used obviously!). Only 1yr warranty but can't complain for the price.

I'd personally never buy anything electrical at this price from Argos. They are a nightmare with electricals. A toaster yes but stuff like this I wouldn't. I bought a faulty tv from them a few years back and it was a nightmare trying to get them to do anything about it

I've been monitoring prices for a couple of weeks (as I've been in the market for one). Tempted by the Fluffy but that comes with the older (less powerful) power head. And the Absolute comes with the newer power head but not the fluffy head for hard floors. The Total Clean has both the newer power head and the fluffy head.

As mentioned earlier the Absolute is oos on the Dyson website, this is because it was on sale for most of Feb at £249. The Total Clean model is now £269 on there (same price as Currys) HOWEVER, if you own an older Dyson (any model, mines a DC05!) and give Dyson a call you may get a discount. I just got my Total Clean for £20 off (£249) plus they're sending me a "Handheld Tool Kit" which includes the expandable hose (very useful for cars, stairs etc).

You could get a discount on the Fluffy by calling Dyson as its the same price there as Argos atm. ;)

Don't bother just asking for a discount, can get them defensive, just casually mention u already own a Dyson, it should prompt them to offer a discount. ;) It took me 2 calls to get that offer on my Total Clean tho cos the first person I spoke to only offered to match the current Curry's offer of the (inferior) Allergy Tool Kit and no discount. Said I'd think about it and called again an hour later. Oh and don't bluff it, they'll ask for the serial number off your old Dyson. 8)
