Needs no introduction really, an excellent price for a very good (if expensive) vacuum. RRP was £449.99 - £499.99 so quite a saving. 1.5% Quidco / 1.57% TopCashBack as well. 5 Year Guarantee

For anyone who is interested, you can get a discount (which dabone mentions) if you are an previous Dyson customer. Which brings the price down on this to £309.99. You have to phone up to get the discount, number I was given by Live Chat is 0800 298 0298.

I got mine direct from Dyson for £309 on Tuesday was phoneing up to get one collected asI found it cheeper on line after I had ordered it, was told while I was on the phone the price had just dropped so ripped thier arm off and ordered there and then while on the phone I arranged for the same model to be collected at the same time as the new one was being delivered....lol also comes with free next day delivery and free tool attachments

Could they not of just refunded you the difference?

Also do you have a link to the £309 price?

Get a Miele and get fit whilst your hoovering too :D
Miele vacuums are nice, just never owned one so like many I have no frame of reference on how they are to live with. I don't expect this deal to get hot but thought someone might appreciate a heads up regardless.
I've owned a Dyson which is still going strong after 6 years and the one time I've used their CS it was a pleasure I have to say.
Do Miele do a bagless upright?
I've had both Dyson & now Miele and the latter Miele knocks spots off Dyson in every way except they are heavy - or at least the upright one we have is' hence get fit whilst your hoovering.
The build quality on a Miele vs it's very plasticky overpriced competitor Dyson is second to none and the performance is better too - my opinion.
Miele don't do bagless as far as I know but as I say I've had both and prefer a Miele with bags that cleans brilliantly and keeps all the muck in a bag - as opposed to a Dyson that cleans well but with a messy 'bag less' system that spreads as much dust as it takes in - or at least ours used too.
Just my opinion OP' there's a few Dyson lovers on here who'll say different as will the Miele fans.
I suppose it's all down to personal preference :)

Yeah it is mostly down to personal preference. I do like the idea of a filterless bagless vacuum though so been keeping an eye on the price of the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal. The fact it has no filters to clean (which our current one has a few of and they are always a pain) is the biggest selling point imho.

Like you say "the cloud" as I think it is known is the biggest flaw with these bagless vacuums, we empty ours outside into the wheelie bin to avoid spreading it about but this isn't always an option for others. That being said I'm not sure I could go back to paying for bags, I'd imagine the genuine Miele ones are quite expensive but I guess there are a few OEM versions about that brings down the cost.

Yeah the older Dysons are very heavy, you certainly work up a bit of a sweat when doing the whole house top to bottom that's for sure! lol

I have to say the biggest thing that puts me off a Miele is the 2 year guarantee, for all the talk of it being "German Engineering" you'd think they'd back it up with a longer free warranty, rather than the current pay £50 for 10 years system they have at the moment.

I tried it with the motorized tool first, it seemed to pick up a lot of dust from the stairs, which is impressive considering I used my cylinder Dyson on the same area earlier this week.
Mine has been delivered, gave it a quick try on the stairs and its very powerful!
Are you using it with the motorised tool? And without the max power button.

Shipment notification came for me today as well. At least you can be sure of getting new, fresh, stock ;)
Finally have dispatch notification on this one, looks like they are all going out on the same day. Almost seems like they were awaiting stock, which is odd considering its dyson themselves.

I bought my wife one of these for Christmas, very good bit of kit and she loves it! We got the kit with the extra bits for a little more money, but I'm sure this would do the basics very well.

You bought her a hoover for xmas?

Other stocking fillers, include washing up liquid, an iron, a mop , a bucket, and a palm tree branch to cool the husband down
I had the same thoughts when I also ordered from VERY and was disappointed as it stopped working after only a day of use.
However, Dyson customer service were good and provided a new charger which took a few days to arrive and it's charging fine now.

Having had this, the new cheaper non-motorised hard floor cleaner in the absolute makes it a lot worse than the Total clean that has two motorised heads.

It seems the point of the absolute being the best cleaner is made with using the small motorhead tool which is 20w compared with the total clean 15w or the animal's 10w (all look the same but somehow Dyson have made the top end products not work with the lower end products). Given that there is a 14day period, I will be returning the absolute for a £10-£20 discount and getting the Total Clean which is £280-£290 depending on price fluctuation
took the plunge, just got this deal

hopefully better than the total clean

Hi, I'm looking at the France option, could you tell me about the plug? As in do you need to rewire or purchase a uk plug?
If you purchase in France, you will get a charger with a 2-pin European plug. You can just use a cheap 2-pin to 3-pin adapter (£3?) to connect the charger in the UK. Voltage is the same.

There have been cheaper deals buying from Amazon.de or Amazon.fr, but they do not include the "mini motorized tool" (which is ~£40), there is some doubt as to claiming on the guarantee (legally should be able to, but may be some trouble when trying to claim)

There is zero doubt on warranty of Dyson vacuums purchased in France/Germany and used in the UK. It's even stated on Dyson's website that warranty will apply.

"Where this machine is sold within the EU, this warranty will only be valid (i) if the appliance is used in the country in which it was sold or (ii) if the appliance is used in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain or the United Kingdom and the same model as this appliance is sold at the same voltage rating in the relevant country."

https://www.dyson.co.uk/support/guaranteeterms.aspx

I bought a V6 Absolute from Amazon.fr in December (for about £210 delivered), and registered it with Dyson in January (by email, as serial was not accepted from registration page). There was zero issue, and they are even sending me the mini brush for free!

How did you get the mini brush?

Hi all, could anyone help me please with some advice?

Been thinking of a Dyson for a while now, currently have a little Henry but its awkward..

Would this be the recommended model for the below uses:

- cleaning car interrior

- upstairs/downstairs house (4 bedrooms)

- no pet (dog passed away last year :( )

Do NOT want a cordless, house too big for it.
Bought one of these in December to replace a vax compact air 3. Expected it to be the best vacuum I've ever had but it just isn't.
It's really heavy, poor steering and you have to wrestle with it when you want to use the attachments because the hose isn't flexible enough. What was all this pivot on a ball stuff? When I pivot on the ball it's like driving with broken power steering.
Been this price at most retailers for weeks, and isn't even a particularly good cleaner for the money
We paid £250 for our dc25 back in August 2014..wish we hadn't. Can't believe we did lol. So this seems a bit better!
Sorry it's oos at Tesco so pls ignore.

I got the V6 Absolute (best model available) from Amazon France for £215 delivered in December, so this is not such a great deal.
But what about a molded UK plug and UK valid warranty
Converting a EU plug to a UK plug: £2 adapter
UK warranty: already provided by Dyson (and EU law anyway)
Dyson's own wording on its own user manuals:
"Where this appliance is sold within the EU, this guarantee will only be valid (i) if
the appliance is used in the country in which it was sold or (ii), if the appliance is
used in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain or
the United Kingdom and the same model as this appliance is sold at the same
voltage rating in the relevant country"
(Voltage is the same in the UK and France)

Does the Tesco DC42 MF Mk2 come with the 5 year warranty also , is it a standard warranty with the Dyson the 5 year one ?
Thanks for the update.
If you scroll through the images on the Tesco listing you will see on the 2nd image the Energy rating were it states MK 2. The 4th image has similar information. The John Lewis site just has the first image. Hope that helps to confirm it is the MK 2.
Mmm, good point about the doubling-up on Tesco points! What confirms it is the Mk2 in the image?
Scrolling through the images on both the Tesco and John Lewis sites confirm that it is the MK 2. Thanks for the listing, ordered and used double up clubcard points and Quidco for further reduction.

Dyson – Improving Quality of Life through Innovation

DysonBorn from his love of tinkering and inventing, engineer James Dyson, now a knight of the realm, founded Dyson in 1993 as a British manufacturer and retailer of revolutionary vacuum cleaners. But it didn’t start there. In 1974, Sir James grew tired of the poor performance of his Hoover vacuum and set out to apply his engineering know-how to creating a bagless vacuum that used cyclonic separation to maintain 100% suction. It took Dyson many years to obtain the necessary funds to start his company and steer it on its now infamous journey towards billion-dollar status.

Dyson’s Online Shop

Today, Dyson has developed many useful and novel solutions to many of life’s daily chores; all with the same eye-catching design features that turned the traditional vacuum cleaner into an aesthetically pleasing status symbol. You can shop direct from the Dyson website at www.dyson.co.uk, while the handy “Find a retailer“ page displays a map and search function to locate your nearest Dyson retailer.

Key Product Ranges and Brands on Dyson.co.uk

The top categories in the Dyson online store include Vacuums, Cordless Vacuums, Fans and Heaters, Humidifiers, Lighting, and Hand dryers. The Accessories page is where you will find vacuum cleaner add-ons to help you clean hard to reach places and there’s a Spare Parts page in case you lose or break a part of your Dyson product.

The benefits of registering your products and creating a My Dyson account include finding support answers and spare parts quicker, hearing about exclusive owner discounts, and activation of the free 5 or 2 year parts and labour guarantee.

Dyson – Accepted Payment Options

Dyson accept the following payment options for all orders made on their web store: Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, Maestro, and PayPal. A monthly instalment finance option through PayPal Credit as the provider is also available, which will reduce how much you need to pay at first but you’ll end up spending more depending on the repayment length.

Dyson – Shipping Policy

Dyson are happy to deliver products purchased from their online store free of charge provided the total order is over £35; a threshold you’d rarely fall below unless you were buying spare parts. And if you do decide on a new contraption for your Dyson vacuum or need to replace a broken or lost part, the delivery cost for orders under £35 is £3.06 regardless of package weight or size.

If you complete your order of a vacuum cleaner, fan, heater, humidifier, and/or light within normal business hours, then you should expect delivery next day. Orders outside business hours should take 2 business days to arrive. Other products like tools, accessories and spare parts are subject to stock availability and can take 5 to 7 working days for delivery. You can email your shipping queries to [email protected] if necessary.

Cancellations and Returns Policy at dyson.co.uk

You have 14 calendar days to make your request to return a Dyson product, starting from the date your product was delivered. Use the following steps to create a returns request for unwanted products:

  1. Write your request to return your products and e-mail it to [email protected]. If you prefer to send a fax, the Customer Liaison Department’s fax number is 01666 827298. Or you can call 0800 298 0298 to speak to a customer service representative.
  2. If you are returning a vacuum, fan, heater, or lighting product, then Dyson will provide collection of your items free of charge.

If returning other appliances and tools, or to return a damaged or defective product, follow these steps:

  • Call the Dyson customer service team by telephone on 0800 2980298.
  • Follow the instructions given to you on the call to package your product and send it back to Dyson for a refund or exchange. Upon receipt of your request, you then have a further 14 calendar days to pack and post the item back to Dyson. The Dyson representative will inform you if any return shipping costs will also be refunded.

You may be asked to place the items in their original boxes, with sufficient outer packaging to protect the boxes during transit. This is an important step since items damaged on their way back to Dyson may not be accepted for a refund.

Note that if you previously asked Dyson to take your old vacuum away for recycling when the new one was delivered, Dyson are unable to return the old one to you even if you send the new one back for a refund.

The full purchase price will be put back onto your credit/debit card or into your PayPal account once Dyson have accepted the return as undamaged and within the 14 day period.
