I'd prefer to spend the extra money and get Amazon's Kindle 3.

Kindle is a great bit of kit- but not everyon has that kind of money- for an entry level reader I'd say this is a good buy.
#3
For reading lots of books, you're better off with Kindle or Sony PRS-300 as they use e-ink and thus won't kill your eyes if you were to read for a few hours. Also, battery lasts upto 7 hours whereas e-ink readers last a couple of weeks.

Horses for courses but I hadn't heard of this until now.

Buy a real book and kill a tree....

This doesn't look too bad. Like the free case and the fact that if you don't get on with it, I can return it to my local store.... usually no questions asked.
Also looks like the Play version withoutcase (£10 cheaper) has been posted seperately with no cred given. Post.

MP4 player + book is cheaper. Not everyone can afford an e-reader.

But seriously, better to buy the Kindle for only £30. Not exactly a lot of money that will be a much better investment in the long run.

No because its a ebook with proper e-ink and doesnt try to be anything else.

Anyone serious about movies would buy a dedicated player.

Had both types of e-reader, and yes the LCD/TFT can be read in the dark, the problem I had was reading them in the light.
Get one in a nice sunny place, say while you’re on holiday, and they are a nightmare the screens just reflect to much end up reading with a towel over your head!
E-ink no problem, and I just bought a book reading light for £2, so can read in bed too.
Have ordered Kindle, well worth the extra money, and E-Calibre is an excellent piece of kit, as soon as my Wi-Fi e-book is on my network E-calibre will update my RSS feeds, newspapers and put on any new books I want, in the correct format, who needs to drag and drop. :3 simples!

OK, this eReader is a compromise but the very compromise that I want! Videos, Photos, Music and Reading all in one! Great price and Hot Deal! Thanks OP!
