EA Games only 99cents on Android Market (66p each)

From Android Central:

EA Mobile has decided to hook folks up for the Holidays. If you've been holding out on purchasing The Sims 3 or the oh so awesome Need For Speed: Shift now is likely as good a time as any to pick them up. EA has put their whole catalog of games on sale for only 99 cents in the Android Market. We like games. Especially when they go on sale and we can get them on the cheap. [via @EAMobile]

Android Market is specific to phone models? Didn't know that - Samsung Galaxy S
#7
Only Tetris and Fifa on the Galaxy S. Downloaded Tetris so thanks!
#8
So nearly bought Tetris the other day for £3.50~. Cheers OP!
#9
tetris ordered on ZTE Blade (or Orange San Francisco if you want some branding).

thanks OP

@Holdsworth I think the Android Market does restrict certain apps on certain phones. Many of the EA games (especially Need For Speed and The Sims 3) require pretty beefy performance, so lower spec'd phones can't run them (or run them well enough).

Try searching for 'electronic arts' without the quotes and look through the list, you should see all four of them (on a desire). When I searched for 'ea mobile' only fifa came up but you can find them by searching for each game by name as well.

HEAT!

The only one I'm interested is not in the results list.. It's Fifa

Has anyone else managed to get FIFA on HTC Desire?

When i go to buy, the total is shown in Euros.

Will banks (HSBC in particular) charge a transaction fee for this??

(It's the first time ive tried to buy anything off android marketplace)
#17
Otto - Reviews show that desire users have had a lot of issues with fifa, so maybe they blocked it for that phone.

I got charged £1.25 on a 59p transaction the other week, the Android store is a bit of a joke - come on Google sort it out!

I'm with LloydsTSB and they charge £1 for an "overseas transaction fee" :(

I've heard using a credit card stops this from happening but I haven't tried it.... anyone else know how to get round it?

Tempting....

Thanks for the heads up, just done my first purchase woo hoo ;) Went for need for speed.
#25
As HSBC are quite extortionate with their fees, i'll give it a miss.

If they released monopoly on the marketplace for similar money, i'd snap it up!

The price you were charged has nothing to do with Google. It's up to you bank as to whether or not they'll charge you for the currency conversion.

I've bought several applications using Nationwide (building society) and they don't charge any fees for foreign transactions.

I use my Egg credit card to buy android apps. Always get a good exchange rate and no transaction fee. Just about to go for NFS for my desire!

I am lovi'n it !!!

Perhaps its a different type of transaction fee, but when I withdrew money in Ireland HSBC applied a charge for the pleasure.

I expect it differs between account types also.
#33
this is gonna get smoking hot
#34
I can see Fifa 10 on my Desire. Got my Desire from o2, but am using a TMobile Sim. I have also put a modified ROM on it from xda developers, which I believe has opened up the whole of Marketplace (but dont quote me on it).
#35
I can see: Tetris, Fifa 10, Need for Speed Shift & Sims 3. Anyone tried any of these? How do you rate them?
#36
Hot deal

Pity that they only Tetris is available on the X10i
#37

can i get these for my iphone?

Go to iTunes.

Sims 3 is only 59p
Need For Speed: Shift is only 59p
Need For Speed: Undercover is only 59p
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is only 59p

Along with countless other EA Games - all priced at 59p. You might want to take back your Lol pwnd? :p
