Anyone else tried booking through the email link and find the code isn't applied, no where to put it, and £10 isn't taken off?

So is this valid only for international journeys?

East Midlands Trains are a UK train service. Their routes are here:
http://www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/Global/banners/Route%20Map.pdf

If you are looking for at a service run by EMT then it's worth checking MegaTrain as it's the same train and often significantly cheaper for off peak.

Great deal especially for getting to twickenham to watch the Northampton Saints!!! Tip, don't put in Twickers as destination put in st pancreas and opt for a super off peak travel card which gives to the tube and train journey needed.
This is a very good deal! London st pancras, London Victoria, paddington they all in London so who cares! Thank you again voted hot!!
Cheaper with Megatrain to many stations on their network.

Seems they just must have been in the process of changing the site.

The instructions they gave over the phone did not work when I tried and were a bit bizarre. Now not needed in that the promotional code box has now being removed.

It works.
I got to where it wants all the credit card details with a button 'Buy Tickets'.

This appears to be the final section but still no pincode option.
With 'no refunds' it may thus cost £10 extra
Discount code doesn't appear to work. The email confirmation states "you have confirmed your ticket delivery method, you will see a summary of your journey and the discounted price.Just before the final payment screen, you will be asked to input your unique pin code exactly as it is shown without spaces to confirm the discount" but no option to input the pincode is available.
east coast rail is so much cheaper anyway

It was a fatal crash yes, which you obviously wasn't aware of, and probably wouldn't of commented if you had. I'll delete my reply, and say no more about it !

I hadn't realised that, no, I didn't think it looked very serious from the picture.
And of course I wouldn't have commented if I'd known.

But anyway,
I can get a return ticket from Birmingham to London for less than £10, so I have no need for this whatsoever ^^

Picture changed. Sorry for the offence. It was meant to be humorous and I apologise if I offended anyone.

I thought it was funny, but then again I'm holding a monkey on a lead so what does that say about me??!
Boony2310
You find people dying funny do you?

i deleted my comment, i didn't think anyone had died,
it doesn't look like a major crash or anything. do you know if people actually did die in this crash?
it's not like i'm the first one to laugh at something slightly distasteful, though.
something i'm sure you're not innocent of either.

Edited By: comingback on Mar 02, 2011 11:59
Back to the deal - cold for two reasons.

1, these "red dot day" promos used to cost £10 so a 50% price rise in the space of a few weeks isn't good.

Secondly you can only buy these £15 tickets at East Midlands Parkway station, which limits it severely as it's out in the middle of nowhere.

Why can't they do a £15 deal valid from any of their stations?

A very poor promotion because it's only any good if you're going to London.

I live near Sheffield and can get East Midlands Trains services to Manchester, Liverpool. Norwich. Derby or Nottingham, yet when I type in these destinations it says the code isn't available. Why - it's the same company that runs the trains!

Even if you do want to go to London, fares at the time any reasonable person might want to travel for a day out are ludicrously expensive. Yes. you may be able to get a £12 single fare at 3 in the afternoon or 5 in the morning but who on earth would want to travel at that time?

I find plenty of decent priced Advances just after Peak times (typically going down around 10am, returning around 9pm). The trick is to book as far ahead as possible.

The promotion is explicitly only on London-bound services - there's nothing misleading it. Liverpool-Norwich is notoriously overcrowded as it is! No need for promotional boosts on there whatsoever!!

850 spaces, non free. Specifically it was supposed to take congestion off the 453 (at least that's how it was justified), it hasn't. You pretty much need to drive to get there anyway, so you still need a car and have to spend money on general car costs like tax/insurance etc. Ok you save a bit of petrol but once you factor in parking, tickets etc. it will cost you more to get into Nottingham than just continuing on up the 453. So the 453 is as congested as ever and EMP's still empty as ever, hence this offer......and we're back to my original point :whistling:

But anyway, it is a good offer.

We're back to your original point, but I still don't agree with it, still dispute you saying its empty than ever, and that this is why the offer is happening.

But - we are never gonna agree, so lets talk about the deal, and yes, its obviously a good one.

BTW, if you wanna see a real waste of money, are are bored for 5 mins, have a look on google for info on the Cambridge guided busway built on top of a perfectly good old railway line.
vibeone;7422351

I think you need to understand what a 'Parkway' station is. The best way to get there is by car - but it stops people taking said car into Nottingham/London. Thats the point. Thats why it has a big car park (free?). The rest of your post is not even worth arguing about.

As for it being a bit far up the A453... fair point, but there is a slight limitation, being that stations are usually best built on railway lines :)

would have been money better spent if they built a station next to the airport, something similer like they have at manchester airport, get off straight into airport sort of thing, i,m sure it would have been a good way to get people to use the airport more,

last week i booked 4 adults and 1 child east midland parkway to london for 58.50. better than getting a family and friends rail card.:-D

Four adults qualify for a group ticket on East Midlands Trains, these give remarkable discounts.
thekudos;4272277
Our train to London diverted to this station a few weeks ago (I think they were testing as the train stopped but we were told it was not a proper stop). It is in the middle of nowhere and next to the Power Station - three dirty horrible huge power station chinmeys - I thought it was a new station opening for Power Station workers as they were perhaps expending the power station.

Err ... there are EIGHT "dirty horrible huge power station" cooling towers at Ratcliiffe on Trent Power Station. ;-)
better change the title mate, we have lots of Parkway station around.
hunter82;4267496
theres also a parkaway in sheff confusing post

There are loads of Parkway stations throughout the country...
There's only one at East Midlands though, hence "Parkway" and "East Midlands" in that confusing title :)
