am quite tempted with this cause i got a funny car where the battery is under the drivers seat, not the easiest place to jump start!

direct link helps:

Be prepared for some wait till your battery is ready (jump leads are instant).

...yes it does

Jump leads are much better but some people can't use them,
this is a handy alternative

I think this is COLD for the following reasons...

You would need to leave it for quite a while to charge a battery unwilling to start.

Your cigar lighter can be fused as low as 10A, which is lower than many normal mains battery chargers (to give you an idea of the charging time).

If the car with the flat battery has an electrical fault - you would just be draining the battery on the charged car - while you were under the impression you were charging the other.

If your cigar lighters only work with the ignition on - it would mean you had to wait with the cars as it charges - as otherwise you would be leaving them unattended with the keys.

A small car could flatten its small battery trying to get a decent charge into a large diesel car.

If the car offering the charge has its engine left running - it will burn far more fuel than using jump leads.

Jump leads work faster, and you can rev the engine while using jump leads for extra cranking power.

A better (home made) version of this would be add a cigar lighter plug to an 8 amp car battery charger - then plug in both ends and recharge your battery from the mains (which will only work if your cigar lighter works with the ignition off) and leave overnight as its likely to charge as fast.

This type of charger would do it from a local place where you did not have to pay postage....

Wandering a bit OT - but this is one of the best 12v chargers that you can get - and at the lowest price I have seen it.

It offers charge/boost at 80A.

Sorry - but I normally rate your deals highly - as you seem to post things with a mechanical/engineering/tradesman slant.

But you shocked me with this one - and I think the points I made were quite relevant.

I trust its just an off day? :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Ya points weren't relevant at all as i said

"Good for those who don't like jump cables"......."Jump leads are much better but some people can't use them,

I was a commercial mechanic for many years, these are very handy and this is a good price.

Anyway, no more deals from me and i've expired this as i can't be arsed

Some people, have you even had a flat battery? Probably not. My advice is sound and still stands, there is no way that this thing will start a flat battery. I have a cheap pair of jump start leads, fairly thick and they didn't even work - my heavy duty leads, no problem what so ever.

Your in a dream world. - It may be a deal - but if it doesn't work it’s no DEAL regardless of price. Just because people have added comments, you don't have to whinge about not posting again, not all deals can be fantastic and everyone has experiences and I for one appreciate the comments good/bad.

I'd rather buy on the basis of some peoples experiences then in up with a carp (spelt like that) product, regretting my purchase.

If you want you can buy it / send me it and I'll try it with my flat battery. It ANT goanna work.

But even with that - shoving a cigar lighter plug on an 8 amp or less charger does as good a job without the risks.
