Shop is still open. I think there was a sign outside saying that items were 25p for a limited time only. Everything is 25p so you don't need to ask as the lady in there is a bit taciturn. However there are a few BOGOF's clearly marked.
being discussed on `you and yours` bbc radio 4 on now.

The easyFoodstore 25p trial comes to an end today but the store will continue to trade through March and April with a reduced range of items priced at 29p each.

Opened with great fanfare at the beginning of February, within 48 hours Stellios's latest business venture was forced to close because it had run out of stock.

When it reopened a couple of days later, customers were told that they could buy no more than ten of any one product. The easyFoodstore's slogan is "No expensive brands. Just food honestly priced."

But has it found a successful business model? Carolyn Atkinson is inside the pilot store in North West London with Richard Shackleton, Director of Communications at EasyGroup.

From The Guardian

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou plans to roll out 25p store if the concept is a success!
Anywhere that can offer cheaper food is a plus - if you don't need to buy cheap stuff then carry on as usual. For people who do need it, this is worth a try. For some reason Croydon council didn't allow him to open there - not sure what planet they're on but anyone who knows Croydon knows there are a lot of people there who could do with being
offered the chance of cheaper food.
Since the news stories I read yesterday couldn't be bothered to go into detail about why Croydon "rejected" EasyFoodstore, instead leaving it at just leaving it to the imagination, I've had a quick look for the reason. http://www.theguardian.com/business/2014/may/26/easyjet-founder-stelios-budget-foodstore-fails-checkout
"...But the building... is outside the town's retail zone and the council will not make an exception to its rules to let easyFoodstore open there."
"EasyGroup has asked us to make clear that it did not formally apply for planning permission for the Croydon store. It was advised of the existence of the exclusion zone policy and decided instead to follow the route of building a mock-up."
So nothing against Stelios, just that the building his company had was in an area that wasn't designated for ANY large food retailing (which makes sense if you know East Croydon station - there is already a Waitrose and Sainsburys Local - with no parking - presumably the other side of that "retail area" boundary, and I would strongly suspect the EasyFoodstore would have wanted parking as part of any development).

Thanks for the info mate - you would think they would have looked for somewhere inside this retail boundary wouldn't you ........... but they always get things first north of the river !!!
