tried to post this last night but the site was too busy.

this might be of interest to some. Flights for summer 2008 are now on sale. i managed to get to Portugal in August for 2 adults and 2 kids for £390 return.

I thought this a bargain! cheaper than we paid two years ago!

I paid £180 for two adults from Liverpool to Faro (Portugal) last year in mid-late July.

That was with Easyjet but I booked a fair bit closer to the date we flew out.

Flights out of liverpool are expensive, but flights in are cheaper i guess :giggle:

yesterday it was just under £200 to fly from Bristol to Newcastle then Newcastle to Nice in June... that's round trip for 2

don't know if I should wait for direct flight though ?

she's not keen on the indirect route, even if it is cheap

Just got a price for roughly the same dates as last year and its only £109.98 for the two of us return!! :w00t:

Voted hot!

Indirect trips add hours to the travelling time so I can understand why your O/H is not keen. To be honest I don't see why the flights from Bristol to Nice should necessarily cost more than those from Newcastle to Nice anyway so the direct flight may well work out cheaper than the indirect cost but it's entirely your decision.

Thank you sooo much OP - been waiting for these, nothing about them on the web site last week & said to wait for emails - I get all their other carp & they fail to mention flights being released from my home airport!

Voted hot & rep added.

Only problem I ever find with EasyJet is that their deals are rarely from the London airports. I know they're not expensive anyhow, but still kind of annoying :? Never actually travelled with them simply because whenever I've travelled into Europe from London another airline has always beaten them on price, with free snacks and drinks thrown in

I think that is more down to the number of carriers available ex-London - Belfast only had Easyjet for a fair while (and GO before EJ bought them).

Luckily, we seem to be getting far more now - ryan air, jet2, flybe, bmi baby, aer lingus, etc.

I bought flights from Belfast to Malaga at the beginning of December as soon as teh flights were available (register for their e-mail servioce) and on checking the prices now, it's £170 more expensive even with the sale.

Same story for Sleazyjet....SALE MEANS NOTHING.....they just seem to bump their prices way up and then give you a discount making you think you are getting a good deal when infact you're not.

Wish we had more choice from Northern Ireland....roll on the Easyjet / Air Lingus / Ryan Air competitions!!

Prices have gone up for flights from Newcastle from last week when i checked.

Mine have gone down by £35 not happy at all :x

Not sure if it still applies but im sure they used to say book early for the cheaper flights....

Ditto, I was upset to see a sale until I checked out Newcastle to Portugal in July. Price in the sale is £30 more each. Times that by the five of us and I am glad I didn't wait for the sale!!

Flights are always cheaper from Scotland in last 2 weeks of August, because their schools go back earlier (compared to English schools).
Hotels, don't bother ....go self catering and rent a villa for 2 weeks for lot less.
