hi i thought it was about time i shared this one (taken from MSE)

some people have been getting hotel stays for free or at a very good price by using easyjethotels policy of claiming double the difference if you find it cheaper within 24 hours.

Here are the terms and condintons

17. Best prices guaranteed - or we´ll refund double the difference

1. Book your room with easyJetHotels and pay for it.

2. Should you have a valid claim as per the conditions listed below, please send us the following information in the message section on our Contact Us page:
EasyJetHotels-Hotelopia booking reference number
Name of hotel
Arrival date
Name of other website and price quoted
3. Valid claims: valid claims must be made within 24 hours of booking on easyJetHotels in the event the same room type in the same hotel for the same date is found at a lower price on another website. EasyJetHotels will refund on valid claims double the difference between the advertised rate on easyJetHotels and the other available rate subject to the following conditions-

i) EasyJetHotels will confirm valid claims within 3 working days of receipt.

ii) Refunds will only be made after completion of stay by the claimant at the named hotel for the named booking.

iii) Claims for any refund must be made within 24 hours of booking on easyJetHotels.

iv) easyJetHotels must be able to verify the alternative rate is both available and bookable online.

v) Claims for refunds must be based on a comparison of the same hotel for the same dates and same room type and occupancy, and be inclusive of the same services as those offered by easyJetHotels (for example service charges, taxes and breakfast etc.).

vi) On-request rooms are excluded from this price promise and rooms must be available for immediate retail consumer bookings online.

vii) easyJetHotels will not reimburse clients if the compared product is part of a package, is shown in a currency different to that quoted by easyJetHotels, if the competitor rate is not offered by a UK bonded travel agency and/or if the rate is offered on a branded hotel chain website.

viii) This double the difference refund Best Price Guarantee will cover bookings made for up to 4 customers and a maximum of 7 nights´ stay.

ix) The maximum amount refunded shall not exceed the total value of the booking made.

x) Only one claim can be made per person per month.

xi) easyJetHotels will administer this scheme.

xii) Reimbursement of double the difference will be made in the same currency and payment method as the booking made on easyJetHotels.

4. On verifying that the lower rate is available and bookable on the other website, we will refund double the difference within 30 days after completion of stay.

Does "UK bonded travel agency" in section vii mean ABTA? I've have been comparing easyjet hotels in Krakow to travelsupermarket.com and most of the Web sites (hotels.com, octopustravel, ebookers) listed there only mention ATOL.

What sites is it worth comparing against? Obviously Thomas Cook as they're ABTA but they're far more expensive anyway.

Know someone at work who tried to claim the double the difference. Easyjet denied receiving the email asking for the difference. Surprise as they received the booking and every other email that has been sent. Sounds as if they are trying to do a mobile phone contract cashback type operation i,e, out so many barriers in your way to claiming the difference that you give up.

How much was this person trying to claim? I found a hotel that is £2 more with Easy Hotels for the 4 nights I'll be away compared to Thomas Cook. I wonder if they'd find a way not to pay the £4?

If I do book I think i'll send an email straight away then another from a different email account within 24 hours. They'll probably get out of it by accusing me of trying to claim twice! lol

I'm going to look into this over the next week when I have some time. I'll let you know how it works out for me.

Which sites are you using to claim against marko4ever24? That's my biggest concern is them saying the comparison site I have is not valid.

Just in the process of doing this myself.

Booked up yesterday for a week Half Board in Mallorca, Easyjet £233, found elsewhere for £158, so am currently awaiting authorisation of the refund, and will hopefully have a weeks hotel for £83 :)

I asked them to pricematch www.lastminute.com, I believe someone on MSE has had a successful pricematch with them.
There were other sites who were still cheaper, but lastminute were cheapest. Try using www.hotelscomparison.com to check out quite a few companies

Hotel Don Bigote, Palma Nova: 5/5 to 12/5 Half Board
Easyjethotels: £233
Lastminute: £158
Double Difference: £150
Price (hopefully): £83

We've stayed in the hotel twice before, and loved it. Its not the "greatest" hotel in the world, but a great base to rest your head. Rooms are airconditioned. Brekkie each morning is a good fry up, yummy!. Dinners can be a bit dodgy (not much choice), but for the price you can leave them and eat out if you want. Its just a minute or 2's walk from the beach, night club on the corner, but still quiet at night

bazcab - you should habe priced matched with travelrepublic.co.uk.
For the week you wre after it shows as £144.75 for a twin room or £149.19 for a double room. Furthermore, they allow you to pay a 10/20% deposit now and the rest 8 weeks before you go. This gives you plenty of time to find the money! - I think lastminute.com ask for full amount up front (?)

I always worry you intentially look for the biggest spread on these and they refuse to honour it, and you are stuck

Cheers harvey, but the travelrepublic option might be flawed.
The EJH website states the room as being a double/twin standard, so for the pricematch to go through without problems, they require you to find the "exact same" room at a lower price.

The price for a double/twin standard on travelrepublic would cost £208.

Your best bet when looking to get a pricematch is to think like you work for EJH and investigate every little details, and make certain theres no differences for them to pick up on. :)

Do not be fooled by the DOUBLE THE DIFFERENCE GUARANTEE!
This is a complete CON, I booked a Hotel in Venice for £220 per night with Easyjet Hotels and found it on Opodo for £85. First Easyjet Hotels said that my deal didn't include Breakfast then admitted it did and then said the room with Opodo couldn't be cancelled. Therefore the guarantee didnt apply and charged me £15 for cancelling the room with them. Cowboys....BEWARE!
