Combine the two family card deals and (mon-fri after 6pm) you can eat and drink well for £1
Food, either order 10 meatballs, chips, gravy and sauce or pasta and sauce for a £1
Drink, family card members qualify for unlimited free tea and coffee, a good meal with hot drinks for £1, or a v good feed for £2 if your greedy like me!
Makes the whole horrendous experience a little more bearable!

It wasn't that funny.

They are the Swedish meatballs right?

....not convinced it was funny at all.....
#9
Have you factored in the delivery charge?
#10
Don't forget quidco!
#11
Have to say the food was the only thing that kept me sane, 4hrs buying a cot and a wardrobe and I still haven't faced the worst bit, finally motivating myself to open the box only to find the one vital piece missing!
#12
Cant wait for the southampton one to open so I can take advantage of these offers :)
#13
u cant beat food at costco food court ...
not a big fan of ikea... hence voted cold. sorry
#14
I HATE Ikea. Had meatballs for the first time at Xmas and me and a friend both had the runs afterwards. Never, ever again, even if they paid me.

You shouldn't vote based on your opinion of the product, but rather how valuable the deal is for the product.
For example, say you really really really really don't like Ferraris, but there was a deal to get a brand new Enzo for £5,000. That's an absolutely stonking good deal (Too good to be true, in fact =P) and even if you seriously hate Ferraris, you can't deny that it's a good deal.

This is no different, just because you don't like Ikea doesn't mean the deal isn't hot, it just means it's not relevant to you. Even if the food was 10p, you'd still vote cold.

Whadaya mean? I love building the stuff up, especially if the instructions are vague.

Not been to Ikea in ages, but is it not like sitting in a staff canteen?

you can eat and drink well for £1

I disagree. You can eat a meal for that price. But that is not necessarily eating well.

Ikea meatballs rule the world! The sauce on them is to die for. I want to drink mugs of it :D

Mmmm we love Ikea Meatballs. This is a really good deal, and you've reminded me that we can go and do this tonight as I don't fancy cooking.

Thanks OP - this is HOT - Hopefully I won't burn my tonghue!
#21
excludes edinburgh so voted cold, cmon ikea gotta make it fair!
#22
hot cos my kids can share between the two of them!! yay!!
#23
Are you sure it excludes Edinburgh? If it does go to the manager and complain.....the lady in front of me had two fish dinners and asked if there was an offer, the girl behind the counter said yes (but meant the meatballs) so at checkout there was a fuss because the lady wanted two fish dinners for £5 (previous offer).
She was sent to customer service for a refund for being wrongly advised!!!!!

Well said there! These are "hot deals" not "like it or not" deals. If you don't like some brand then stay away from that deal.

Their breakfasts are good too

£1 for a full english with free tea coffee if you haev the family card (just pick one up and use it!)
#26
Worth a try at that price.

my wife is always moaning i never take her out for a meal.
ikea here we come, :-Dhaha
#28
Great deal for a quid.

In the past i've always bought 2 kids meals (meatball ones)

They end up costing less and you get a few more chips.

Ikea rumbled this a couple of years ago and starting using kids plates for kids meals.

So you end up looking like a tool. But i still dont care.
#29
Unfortunatly it does exclude Edinburgh, just went onto Ikea website to check Warrington & it says on deal page, excludes Edinburgh, not fair really!
#30
excuse me for sounding stupid, but what are the 'two family deals'? do i get a meal for £1 if i walk into the restaurant and buy a meal?

:whistling:
I take it the hundreds of other people that consumed the meatballs that day had the same problem?
#32
can you only buy 1 meal or one for you and one for the wife?.
#33
ok just got back, basically ask the person serving for the £1 meatballs and chips to make sure, you get 10 meatballs in sauce with chips - pretty damn nice i thought.
#34
i could only imagine the quality of products they use for £1 how could you put that in your body just disgusting.
#35
any vegetarian options?

Yes, pasta and sauce for £1, doesn't compare to the meatballs tho!

This thread is deal #1 - you visit their restaurant on a weekday after 6pm and can buy their 10 meatball meal for £1 - ie 10 meatballs in gravy with a dollop of lingenberry sauce and a portion of potatoes (eg chips). This is a timed offer July/August 2008 only.

Deal #2 is ongoing - ie visit their restaurant on a weekday and get a coffee/tea cup to refill it as often as you like from their machines for free instead of usual 95p (from memory).

These are for IKEA FAMILY CARD holders - which is free and you can pick up one in the store just before visiting the restaurant (and has nothing to do with YOUR family, ie it's just yet another affinity/regular shopper card).

Just checkout www.ikea.co.uk and look for FAMILY
