I was in IKEA Glasgow today and noticed a poster when I was in the restaurant. for the month of April any food that you buy in the restaurant will be deducted from whatever you buy in the store in May! so if you feed your family and it costs £30 when you go back in may take your reciept and they will deduct this from the cost of your shopping. i'm only using £30 as an example there was no small print to say any minimum spend

seems to be Glasgow only but all the other stores seem to be doing it at some point so keep an eye on the website to see if its coming to you. seems to be in conjunction with the new show rooms that they are building.

boys....heat me up some meatballs.

Never been to ikea but do the restraunts sell say, packaged sweets? Just thinking if you are spending £100 or so might be worth loading up on Swedish smarties or the like!
#10
no sweets or anything. its basically a canteen but the food is actually pretty good.

Would rather chew off my own arm than go to Ikea - but hey, this deal might taste better! Good find and I'll look out for it next time I'm dragged there.

if you were going to buy a kitchen you could just run into the cafeteria and buy everyone there dinner then take it off the price of the kitchen.
#15
There is the potential to do some serious good deeds, like feeding the homeless and stuff while you buy stuff for your home :p
#16
hahaha you could get 50 cans of pear cider and get it paid for! sweet! that's my summer bbq sorted
#17

Ikea food..... nice..

SO the question is...... What can I buy from ikea on a daily basis and it still be useful to get a free meal every day... (maybe a couple of glasses one day... couple of plates the next....

Heres a good option. (which im sure will be excluded) Could I buy a Gift Voucher and get the money off that ?? Then I could collect them up and buy a wardrobe! LOL..

If only i lived close to Ikea!

Couldn't you buy your food, get it refunded when you buy an item instore. And then return the item to get a refund.
Therefore getting a 100% free meal?

How about my idea...

Following your lovely ikea candle lit dinner............. Buy a Gift Voucher for the value of the meal and get the money off.....so your getting a free voccher then use the gift voucher to pay for your next meal and so on....

Im sure Gift Vouchers will be excluded though

There's no such thing as a free lunch :-D

Sounds like a good deal, but am sure they will have Ts and Cs to stop people abusing the offer.

you could then buy an Ikea house and eat free for years
#29
you will struggle to spend over a tenner for two people , the food is cheapand cheerful , good tip though

bit early to tell us, most people will have forgotten about it by then

there's just no pleasing some people! :whistling:

didnt want someone to get in there before me.

I've never been the Ikea restaurant before but it might be possible to pick up other people's receipts they've left on their trays. Is it one if them canteen type places where you're expected to put your tray back on a rack after you've finished?

you could do that.
#33
So you could eat a tenners worth of food, then go buy something for a tenner, get the food bill taken off and free item plus free food. Sounds good to me.

That would be kinda daft.....a nice gesture but you wouldn't gain anything.

A better plan would be to pay for half if you could have their receipts.

#36
Don't suppose the hotdogs would be included in this? Quite possibly, the finest food ever created by man.

He didn't say he wasn't homeless. Maybe he hasn't eaten for a while. Is Straiton IKEA nice for a first date with someone you don't like?

it wouldn't really be free though would it!

:) Sounds good!

You could arrange to take a big group of people , let's say 45 and then get each person to pay for their meal and when they go home you take the receipt and go and use it to get a free kitchen or sofa or something else . Could hold an early Xmas party there
