Ebac 2650e Dehumidifier, 18 Litre, White Air Cleaning Type: Fan
•Air Treatment Device Type: Dehumidifier
•HEPA Filter: No
•Hepa Filter: No
•Ionizer: No
•Maximum Tank Capacity in Litres: 18ltr
•Type of Air Treatment: Air Dehumidifier

Got one myself, very good and usually £189.

Realise there is not much time left (less than an hour). Not after heat (never interests me) but hope this saves someone some cash OR gets them a quality dehumidifier. Much quieter than my old DEM10.

Your point (wrong I think) is what? That this is a non deal? Fine, to others (like you in reality) they won't be able to find it cheaper - comments like yours are totally pointless. IF you were saying it is on a deal tomorrow for cheaper then great but your not..............

5 years at least from memory.... and VERY good.

EBAC Dehumidifiers are fantastic. Made in Britian for the British climate.

EBAC is a very good brand and this is great for a house. Various modes... Rush in and buy it would be my advice, read up tonight and keep order..
#12
I've never been satisfied with any dehumidifier other than Mitsubishi ones.
The noise of other makes isn't acceptable in a home.

That's been my personal experience anyway

ok great I have ordered one on your advise

I have a 1940s terraced house and in the bedrooms get bad condensation and damp patches in various locations in most rooms hopefully this will combat my issues in winter time

Where would you recommend placing the unit as I presume it wouldn't be a good idea to keep in a bedroom at night

Ebac products only have 1 year warranty if through Amazon. More than that if through anyone else, some models have 5 year warranty. If want more than 1 year then get from somewhere other than Amazon.

what difference does it make what retailer you buy it from as surely the warranty would be with the manufacturer and not the retailer ?
#16
I have had 2 EBAC dehimidifiers. In the box there is a card to purchase a 5 year warranty from EBAC themselves. It was about £40 when I done it. Never had to use it though.

Oh, and on the other side. I am very happy and the noise doesn't bother me - You can't here it on econ, auto. It surely couldn't annoy anyone. Personally I have mine on max at night when econ 7 kicks in.
EDIT - not sure what type i.e. compressor or not. Certainly much quieter than DEM10.

That is exactly the reason I have mine. I have mine in the kitchen as I find it is most convenient there. I think damp rises up through the concrete floor. I was going to put in under the (open) stairs but it is easier to empty drainer near to sink - no risk with spilage though with this container. Re warranty I am sure I got 5 years for free from Ebac.

You sure about that? The warranty is with manufacturer - you just register and get 5 years for free. Must add not 100% sure that is correct but for pretty sure that is what I did.

Ordered one last time this offer was on amazon. it arrived Sunday and is working very hard. im pleased with it so far. warranty is one year plus one year free if registered online. there is an option for 5 year but its chargeable at um...either £40 or £45 (haven't got paperwork in front of me). still thinking about paying for up graded cover.....

Bought this model 3 years ago and it's fantastic, Paid £199 at the time and worth every penny. Don't go buying the cheaper dehumidifiers as you really do get what you pay for.

It is free at the moment and I think it was when I did it - not sure and I will certainly be calling tomorrow as the 5 years warranty was a major reason for buying.

Interesting - logging in to Ebac now to check my account. Seen it is free online for 5 year warranty and says just register online.
#24
According to there website in the link below there doing a special offer at the moment 5 year cover is free does this apply to ones purchased from Amazon oO

http://www.ebac.com/shop/product.php?productid=27

It has ended now anyway. I advise anyone who has purchased it to either cancel if wanted 5 year warranty OR check if it comes with one, including calling Ebac and saying you notice no stock of dehumidifier but bought one from Amazon and wanted the 5 year warranty for free.

That said going to check online with my serial number.
EDIT - checked online and I have a 5 year warranty that was included when I registered. I certainly didn't buy from Ebac. I can't find order on my Amazon account.
So again to anyone out there who wants (perfectly reasonable!) the 5 year warranty for free, call Ebac tomorrow and get it clarified.

Have spent a great deal of time today trying to treat mould in front bedroom-will give this a try. Thanks op
#27
This one would seem to be a compressor model i.e. noisy.

Desiccant models just have a fan and no compressor i.e less noise, but still work just as effectively and in many situations actually work better.

EcoAir make some desiccant models that are around this price already, Amazon have it at £129.97 with free delivery. Just search on Amazon for EcoAir Simple. This is the model I have, I've had it about a month now, and even now I'm still amazed how much water it extracts just from the air!

These are great, had mine over 5 years now no problems. Got it directly from EBac and paid more than this. Excellent product, good for drying washing indoors, prevents damp and mould, condensation on Windows etc. I think you can use a drain kit with this model to save emptying, it has quite a few power settings and is surprising how much water they collect. I did hear somewhere that it would be cheaper to heat your home when using one of these as you are not heating moisture in the air although I don't know whether or not this is true!

This is just as info (someone could rightly say it is nonsense - but it works for me) - I am not a professional and as you are aware neither are builders.
You really should find the source of problem - if the mould is less than a meter (and half?) than I guess rising damp. If it is higher then maybe penetrating damp. The first rule is ventilate which is not always possible re window open in this weather. Shower/bathroom - I have an extractor.
I personally put this on my external and chimney walls http://www.gowallpaper.co.uk/erfurt-mav-wallrock-kv600-thermal-liner.html and without a doubt it got rid of the cold spots which is where my mould appeared if not on the (cold) glass windows. It therefore obviously made the room warmer. - I have also fixed rising damp and penetrating damp within the same house but hopefully that isn't your problem!
This dehumidifier is needed now because we use the washing machine every night and dry the clothes inside - that moisture has to go some where and now it doesn't go on windows or walls ;)

You are an absolute superstar-far more use than my humming & hahhing builders. As you've said, difficult to ventilate when temperatures are sub zero outside. However, due to damp, always have window slightly open during the day. Constantly have washing drying, which doesn't help:/ Thanks so much for your advice;)

I am not confirming anything. It says what to do. The deal ended hours ago so you have plenty of time to find out and check which is best for you.

Just to clarify after speaking to ebac customer service that purchases from Amazon will only be a 2 year warranty

Only purchases through ebac direct get a 5 year
#38
how much is the 5 year warranty? you register and get 5 years for free. Also says that on two websites I looked at. I have logged in and my warranty is 5 years. Would re check that re additional warranty.

How bizarre as I didn't! Also on the website I showed above - dehumidifiers .co.uk they offer 5 years. I have an idea what might of happened with mine, Ebac may have fulfilled the order.
Are you going to return to Amazon? or contact them about difference in warranty? If Ebac do 5 years as standard then it makes no sense to me. Mention you want to buy filters off them if they will do the extended warranty as listed as free on their site - wonder if they will bite.
