"As an exclusive offer to UK Sellers, we wanted to let you know that eBay.co.uk has partnered with Parcelforce Worldwide in order to help you extend your sales deep into December.

From just £10.99 for Parcelforce 48 and £11.99 for Parcelforce 24, between the 13th and 21st of December 2007, you can have your items collected from your doorstep and then dispatched anywhere in the UK."

You *must* be signed into your eBay account, then click through this link...

http://www.parcelforce.com/portal/campaign/content1?catId=7300052&mediaId=21600363

...then agree to the T&Cs and then it will proceed to the booking stage. You don't have to start an auction or do anything special to use this promo, you simply have to be an eBay member that is signed in.

Good for sending large and heavy items that might otherwise be a lot more expensive sending via Royalmail Recorded or Special.

Anyone bidding or buying on ebay, where Parcel Force is being used to deliver
your item/items, i'd give it second thoughts.

I thought this xmas i would start my 13 year old daughter on the road to her very first Hi-fi separates, Amplifier, CD Player, Tuner, anyway won a Kenwood Stereo Amplifier KA3020 Special Edition mint condition. nice bit of kit for £20.00

First the assholes did not know where Amp was, then they found it, and it was scanned out to be put on the lorry to Leeds depot, when they checked the stuff off at Leeds Parcel Force, my Amplifier was not on lorry.

Parcel Force has received a high number of complaints for there poor service and was even on Watchdog regarding this matter.

Last year i was using CityLink, who were charging me half the price they're mentioning for large packages but all i have to say is, make sure you use a lot of protection, as they do to tend to damage the item itself if it's not cushioned by several layers of bubblewrap and they even damaged some of the boxes.

In my opinion, if you can be bothered to spend a lot of time and money to protect your items (time is money), then CityLink is the cheapest option after negotiating, otherwise, i'd recommend only the biggest companies like DHL and UPS for big packages, especially if your item is expensive.

I used parcel2go (who in turn use DHL) last week to send off an xbox. I got £2 off with quidco and 10% off using a voucher from this site. Came to about £7.50 and was delivered next working day.

Last week with parcelforce.

First day it didn't come, tracker says, out for delivery, then returned to depot.

Second day, no sign so I ring up depot ( 10p/min, 18 mins on hold). "Not sure why you haven't got it, but ring the depot on Saturday and you can come and get it."

Saturday, The depot doesn't answer the phone all day.

Monday, Tracker doesn't say returned to depot on Friday, so ring depot. (19 mins on hold), "sir , we have a new driver, and lots of parcels, so he didn't get to your house before the end of his shift on thursday, Not sure what happened on Friday, but we definitely haven't lost it. We'll call you back at 3pm to confirm you have it".

Monday 3pm. No call
3.30pm. Call Depot, after 20 mins on hold I give up.
4.00pm Call customer services. "Not sure about your parcel Sir, back we'll raise an urgent request for them to call you"
4.30pm Call the depot again. After 25 mins, line is autodirected to customer services. "Yes Sir, I can see you've called before. The depot will get back to you within 24 horus"
5.00pm Fill in a compliant form.

Tuesday. No call from depot/customer services. No Parcel. No response to complaint. Ring supplier who agree to send out another parcel.

Wednesday 11am No sign of either parcel. Ring parcelforce.. just 13 mins on hold today. "We've got the original parcel on for you postcode on the system, but no trace. Don't have the new parcel, do you have a ref", "Oh found it Sir, Its out for delivery", Me, "can you ensure we get it today" , "Yes, we'll ring the driver and see if he can manage it"

1pm Parcel arrives. Hurray. Unmarked white van, strangly wife says she saw it early in the day but it didn't drop the parcl.

Dealing with their system and trying to get help completely puts me off them. Citylink may tend to bounce your parcel around, but the depot close if they fail to deliver.

Think some of the parcel brokers like http://www.interparcel.com/ are better becuase they discount on the big name

i am using an ebay user not sure i am allowed to post it on here but i "payperdrop_uk" (wink) 5.99 for next day delievery use them 6 six times this week, they use DHL, the only bugbear is the 10am cut off for same day collection. But it is cheaper than SD with royal mail.

I have used lots of couriers but these are the cheapest by far.

Another vote for Parcel2Go. Been using them for a couple of years now.
#11
parcel2go makes me laugh, offering a next day service, and a premium guranteed collection service for more, doest instill much hope in the normal services.
#12
Nice find

Couriers always have complaints. I find PF to be fine (have used them for over 50 collections)

This price is available full time at:

I use Interparcel, never had any problems, although their list of carriers seems to have reduced lately.

I would not recommend using Parcelfarce to anyone though, expensive and rubbish service, and you need to really pack things well, beleive me if you make a claim for damage and they come around to inspect the items, you had better hope it was encased in bubblewrap, anti piercecardboard and fitted with shock absorbers and placed in a titanium case - otherwise they aint payin! (even then they will probably argue it was packaged insufficiently)

Or just use Royal Mail special delivery! Im sure its much cheaper and more reliable!

If you're sending an item which has a weight of 2Kg to 10Kg you will have to pay a minimum of £18.50 with RM Special Delivery :-(

Anyway, thanks to bghunter for the PPD tip :santa:

Sorry OP for posting this again. I did a search but only the Parcelforce MAS voucher came up.
A mod has removed my post and this will bump this one up.

Thanks for removing my post Ray :)

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is no online tracking with this, so if the item was paid for by PayPal and the buyer disputes delivery, then PayPal with return the buyers money every time.

Also, only one collection and one delivery attempt - if a second attempt is required additional charges apply.

...and definitely no refunds, even for failing to provide any service!

But if you're happy with the terms, carry on using them :)

I've never had a problem with Parcelforce and use them a lot to both send (at work) and receive (Ebay purchases - lol!). They have proved to be very reliable with only 1 parcel late (took 3 days instead of 2) out of about 200 sent in the past couple of months. All of our urgent (24 hour) parcels have been delivered on time. Their online tracking system is easy to use and if you're out they can drop the parcel at the local post office (saving a long trek to the depot to pick up). Very happy and would recommend.

Tracking is available just a little pain to do.

Think this is standard through most couriers
But at the end of the day reagards of the middleman you use problems can still arise. The thing with the £5.99 is their is problems it is a small enough price to swallow than £10+

I sent my xbox to be "ammended" using the parcel2go company, they picked it up from my house and delivered it back when all was sorted, anyway my brother and I sell stuff on ebay (i'm being vague so not to break the rules, and drop plugs). And we needed padded envelopes from so after some browsing I thought i'd by some from parcels2go and my brother ordered at the same time. waited a week and no sign of them for either of use, so we emailed them got ignored, waited another week, still no joy, luckily we paid through paypal, both of us put in disputes against the company. and eventually got our money back.

So I don't trust parcels2go anymore :(

I've sent 9 things via these people so far and no problems at all. DHL come and collect & it's been the same driver each time who even tells me what time she's in the area for the coming week. No complaints from customers and a damn sight cheaper than ParcelFarce!

Used Parcel2go regularly up to a year ago based on their good prices. Then they missed 3 seperate collections.

Service is fine when it works but if you have an issue their Customer Service is probably the worst I have ever encountered. Staff, when they answer, could not care less. Phone lines are always busy with long queues and email response is appalling. They never offer any apologies or compensation. I ended up taking them to court for breach of contract in not collecting and they settled before it got there.

I would never recommend them unless you want a huge bucket load of grief when something goes wrong (note the when instead of if).
