Nice one. Should save you a fair bit
Don't forget though, that a lot of people will take advantage of this cheap listing day http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/smilies/speechless-smiley-040.gif

Just to confirm, this is a 5p saving on any item with a starting price of 99p or less? Final value fees, any paypal fees, bold, highlighted extra fees are still their normal prices right?

Or am I getting that wrong?

Sorry but you have it wrong.:-(
This is for the basic listing fee on a BIN or Auction.
On my top seller I will save 80p on each listing and I sell these for £21.99. :-D
Paypal fees have NOTHING to do with the listing fee. You can save 3.4% and 20p by not offering Paypal.
BACS, Postal Orders, and Cheques are a lot safer and cheaper for a seller.

I've sold a few things on non paypal before and the hassle/waiting from people who basically didn't have a clue just annoyed me far too much so stuck with paypal.

I shall take your word an expertise on this dinosteveus and ask you another ebay question if I may.

Is Thursday the best day to list? As far as I'm aware Sundays and Monday evenings is the busiest time for home internet use so listing something on a Friday evening for 10days (can you do longer now its been a while for me on ebay) means you get 2 lots of Sunday/Monday combos, with the listing ending the Monday after.

Any advice on this and other selling tips much appreciated (PS i read the massive ebay tips thread on the community forum, lots of good stuff)

I will be using the 10p listing day but I'll not be listing as much as usual this Thursday, I find that the market gets 'flooded' on these cheap listing days.
In my opinion listing on a Thursday evening for 10 days is the best time to do it, you get two weekends worth of potential buyers 'looking' at your items.

As for payment, if the buyer wants the item they will pay asap. I much prefer to wait for a Cheque, Postal Order or a BACS to clear than have the instant payment by Paypal. Paypal is, in my opinion more trouble for me as a seller then it's worth.
Paypal also take up to 10 days to transfer the money to your Bank Account so it is NOT instant 'payment'.

10 days is the longest you can list for, unless you have an ebay shop then it's 'unlimited' to a point, but shops don't come up in a search as much as they used to so your potential buyers is limited.

I cannot stress enough, 'check' your bidders and buyers out as much as you can. I would prefer to get a NPS strike and a neg then to sell to a 'dodgy' buyer who could be trying to 'scam' you.
Do NOT skimp on the postage, use the correct service for the item.
My moto is:- 'My way or NO way'.

Depends on what you are selling.
What you may consider 'crap' buyers may want it or see it's full potential.

Strange, I was just about to reply to hotscot. :-(
Anyway, I have just tried an item and it came up as 25p including a gallery pic:-
£0.25 (Insertion fee: £0.10; Gallery: £0.15)

If you went through Turbo Lister it lies, so ignore the fees it quoted. :x :x

list a fixed price BIN for £99 and it only costs 10p vs £2.00 normally :)

Looks Like Its Another Scam By Ebay. I Thought It Supposed 2be 10p Listing Day! Its Pay The Full Fee Now + If Your Lucky Ebay Will Refund The Difference In 10 Years Time. Still Waiting For The Credit On The Last 10p Day. Not Going To Bother To List!

List ONE item then go here and sign in to check your current invoice:-

Just tryed to list an item with a 99p start price and in the review and submit screen the insertion fee comes up as 15p?
#20
i've just listed a few things, what you have to do is, after listing, click on the 'my account' section which shows the reduced listing price of 10p.
hope this helps
#21
as has just been mentioned
this has not been made too clear by ebay
it is 10p
shows up as full price when u list, but ur only charged the 'promotional amount'
honest guv
im a umm powerseller lol

I never list items when ebay do these silly pay now refund you later listing days.

Sometimes not all your items are refunded as there are lots of terms and conditions. They are definately trying to hide something other wise why don't they just do a regualar 10p listing day?

I have just listed a couple of items and it came up as only 10p at the time of listing and on my invoice. I can't understand why some people are having a problem with this.

Just listed an item and ebay bloody listed it three times. The same identical item all ending at exactly the same time!

No doubt I'll have to email them to sort it out. Should get a reply some time in 2007.
#26
I provided a link in #19 so you can check your accounts after listing to confirm it is only 10p.

sabrelord, use the other link in #19 to contact Livehelp, they will be able to cancel two of your items and sort a refund out.
