"For the entire day of Wednesday 12th December 2007 (local UK time), sellers who list one or more items in an eligible category, with a listing duration of three days, using the Auction-style, Auction-with-Buy It Now or Buy It Now Only (Fixed Price) formats, and who offer PayPal as a payment option, will pay a 10 pence Insertion Fee for every item they list."

Always check before submitting a new listing how much you will be charged for it. If it doesn't come up as 10p (when you try to list on Wed 12th) then you are probably listing in a category not included in this promotion or you didn't choose 3-days as the listing length.

Yup, the fees are a joke now.

The voting hot or cold isnt whether you like the company its whther or not this is a good deal, and for me it is as ive got around 30 lots I was going to upload in the evening, they can wait til wednesday now!!!
Last time this deal was on was only about two weeks ago as some of my ten day listings would have ended on sunday if not sold, its made me a fair bit of christmas money to spend on the kids as I took almost £200 for things that cost me less than £20 in total, by the time fee's where paid it still left me a tidy profit for a few hours labour!

with a listing duration of three days

OK, I know I'm probably being ultra-thick here, but does that mean the listing can ONLY be for 3 days or for at least 3 days?

What utter rubbish.

If a firm offers the best deal on the planet but that firm are a bunch of muppets then the deal is stone cold.

We've all seen in the past the LaRedoute offers that promise all the gold you can eat - everyone votes HOT and then when the dust settles we all find out that the leopard didn't change it's spots and no-one gets the deal.

Stone cold for me too. Any saving made from the 10p listing is merely cancelled out by the enforced Paypal use. They are not giving you nothing really. If this is how the 10p listing days are going to be run in the future, then they will just be causing more customer annoyance.
#8
fleabay are crooks their fees are a joke, also the own paypal and they are rubbish as well, voted cold cold cold
#9
Voted cold, paypal fees are too high.
#10
Voted cold aswell Paypal are a bunch of arses they dont cough up when you dont recieve your items.
#11
Plus, as a result of these supposed "deals", there are about 10 times as many people listing on the same day meaning that if, say, you advertised a set of GHD's for example, there would be a load more than normal being listed bringing your total selling price down due to the saturation.....COLD
#12
****** it, I posted 5 items on Saturday.

3 days is not good for me, especially with the high volume of non paying bidders over Chrsitmas.

I already have 5 that I will have to issue with NPB strikes over the next fortnight.

Get your act together Greedbay!
#14
lol.. how's this thread working out for you cuddy?

I think it's a good deal for anyone wanting to put up a high buy it now on an item that could go either way. but yeah, ebay and paypal are a bunch of crooks
#15
I voted it hot because even though they're crooks, people just don't buy elsewhere! I keep getting listings cancelled by them for mentioning Google Checkout, unfair competition anyone??
#16
Dont see what the fuss is if you use Ebid, then the listing fees are 0 and overal cost can be nothing depends on what you add to the auction.
I have been using the site for ages and had some mega bargains ok granted it dont get the traffic that thos con artists at ebay get but one day they will be there big time.

Wont ever sell on ebay listings are to high if it dont sell and you where selling multiple items you cant re-list for free.
banned#17
I have tried ebid and it was a ghost town, zero bids on any of my items and ones which did get bids were scammers who tried to get the item before paying me. I think the majority of the suspended ebay users set up shop on ebid.

Those cheeky beggars even charged me for using a credit card for registering on ebid which I was not told about until I checked my credit card statement.

Ebid will never be as big as ebay and if they were, ebay would just buy them like what they do with all their other competitors.

Oh poo, I had a few things that I was going to list on Wednesday any way, now I will have 1000000 others trying to sell their **** before xmas to compete with :(

Yeah, i've got a load of playstation games to sell, when these listing days come, there are so many items ending that day you end up not getting good value for stuff. Annoying buying stuff too having to trawl through the rubbish.

quite. the market will be flooded for 1 day - the site might even crash. hmm, voted hot as prices will be low and buyers can get a bargain :D

Complete W*nkers both of them!!

I totally agree with everyone on here....These so called 'deals' are only serving to wind up honest sellers who can see right through these p*ss poor p*ss taking offers Ebay seems to delight in sh*tting out on us lately - Do they HONESTLY think people are that STUPID that they see these deals and think "oh WOW , thanks EBay for your generosity" ?.....

To think of how many BILLIONS Ebay makes im absolutely gobsmacked that nobody big has set up some sort of competition....If Virgin or Google were to pump a few million into setting a cheaper rival site up i reckon 90% of Ebayers would drop Ebay like a bad fart.

Ebay and Paypal fees have just become rediculous and in doing so Ebay is making it almost impossible for online sellers to make an honest living.....people have HAD to add a percentage onto the postage costs because of the hghly inflated fees but even THIS is going to be hit soon as Ebay are clamping down on people charging more than the value of stamps used when they calculate postage.

I hate the idiots who run Ebay with a passion and Paypa is just another pathetic way of draining money out of honest Ebayers!!

VOTED COLD..and will do on EVERY Ebay 'deal' untill they offer 10p listing days like they used to!

AND 3 Bl00dy day listing only.......!!....what a bunch of P*ss taking thieves!!!

I for one would rate this offer as hot as i always cash in on 10p listing days, unless your a complete cheapskate you won't mind about ebay and paypal fees i haven't and i've used ebay for over 3 years and i get paid quicker with paypal as not alot of people use postal orders and cheques (which takes 7 days to clear) ontop of that i also on a ebay shop i know that every listing roughly costs 10p although shop listings arn't as visable.

So i actually didn't see the message when im logged in as i was hoping it was another CLD (cheap listing day) as you can list an item for £500 for 10pence you have to admit its not as cold as it sounds as normally to list something at that price your talking around a tenner just to list it.

i just came home from work and was going to upload more shop listings but since i seen this im going to just create all my listings in turbo lister and upload on wed :D

ohh yea and im no noob ebayer if thats what your thinking 690 Rating over 1000 sales and used to be a powerseller

dont use paypal if u dont like it then

If you dont use Paypal then its not a deal then is it cos you HAVE to accept Paypal to get the 10p listing....

So basically to conclude...you HAVE to pay the Paypal fees to get the 10p listing...a horrible swings and roundabouts scenario!!!:x
#25
Just offer Paypal on condition the buyer pays the fees :p

Cant do that. Its against eBay rules.

High Fees
3 days means listings end Sat - when no-one is on.
Paypal fees also too high.

I hate ebay for selling

Could you discount non-paypal payment instead?

A lot of biting the hand that feeds going on here. just think back to pre ebay days - attics were full of junk that one had to take to car boot sales and nearly give away & bargains were hard to find so easily. You lot are a pack of bloody moaners! :p :santa:

On average you get more money for your item if you accept paypal, and sell more so surely that more than makes up for the fees?
#32
Ok, I have to say this is the worse ebay deal ever..The Auctions have to last 3 days, which means that it's pointless as the last day for sending standard parcels in time for Christmas is this Friday and the auctions would end on Saturday...

I sell 99p items, so a 5p saving is good, but then again i lose 7 days! Will see if i can list an item then revise the 3 days to 10 days!

Ebay+Paypal are getting worse and worse, i understand why they have high listing fees to try and make sure only decent people list their stuff. But once you've sold loads of stuff and got great feedback they should lower the fees as your making them alot of money.

I also accept cheques, postal orders and bank transfers, I do not want to limit my sales to paypal only, they take enough in fees as it is.

Remember when ebay used to offer proper free listing days.

Now it's nearly always a lame paypal only one.

They have totally exploited their position in the market by constantly raising fees, the customer service has got worst and the amount of dodgy bootleg, counterfeit items is astronomical.

They are blatently profiting from black market goods and expect users to report such listings. It's about time there was a law change that made ebay accountable for the items sold on their site more.

I hear that. It comes to something where buying a new release on there, and it being a toss up between legit & bootleg. I am ultra careful with purchases, carefully check listings & wordings, and still been burned by ****** bootlegs.

There are huge bootleg sellers, I tried reporting to no avail. All they have to do is write something is public domain in their listing (when it clearly isnt) and ebay do nothing. It's sickening.

Never gonna happen mate plus they can't really go bankrupt if you think about it as they don't sell items themselves and they make money everyday, they could downsize their staff but its still a site which the members sell the items themselves and the buyers buy, they just make it all on fees and to keep it simple if 1 in every 10 people who use ebay decided not to use it ebay wouldn't lose anything as you can be sure there would be another 10 people for that 1 person who would join and sell.

They make money if you win or lose either way their still the winner, i ain't complainin i've been buyin for myself and selling old carp for 3 years

Insertion fee: £1.90
Total: * £1.90

As you can see, it charges another 19x times the original 10p fee :|
