How did you get it to work for you? did you list on ebay.ie? in euro's or what??
#6
Yes you have to list from Ebay.ie and list in Euros.

Here's a converter: http://www.sysmod.com/eurocalc/eurocalc.php

Probably not the best but works fine.

Thanks
would it not get confusing as people would be paying in euros, P&P would be in euros etc.???

thanks OP - saved a fortune!

If your paid in Euros into your PayPal account, won't PayPal charge you a fee to convert to Pounds sterling? Are you really saving money, or will it cost more in the long run ?
#10
Why does anyone bother with Ebay anyway? Their fees are a complete rip off! There are plenty of other decent auction sites out there that charge next to nothing, and some are even free.

Don't get ripped off guys

ebay is the monopoly. Show me another site that has a significant fraction of traffic that ebay has.

i hate ebay with a passion, but unfortunately we have no choice right now. this can get off topic, so i'll try not to reply to anything else like this

I'm happy I could be of some help

remember that you are posting overseas, my usual 1st class items shoots up to over £1, so no its not worth it imo.

an example will be an 250g large letter, 1st class will be at 65p, posting to Ireland will cost you £2.71! So beware and dont lose out.

Paypal doesn't charge to convert money, I get paid in dollars all the time...you just exchange it at the national rate.

Make sure when listing you select you will post to the UK, you don't only have to post to Ireland...

I have just listed something using this method, cost 14p in total with a gallery pic as well, saved £1.50, however it does clearly state this is for people in Ireland only...and I am not in Ireland, so wouldn't be at all surprised if the listing gets pulled or they charge the full rate etc, so I am not going mad...have several other things to list but I am too dubious to do it!

I agree with you about the amount of traffic they get, the only way to sort that problem is to stop using them. Vote with your feet! They are totally evil :x

Name an alternative then...I'm also on the 'eBay is evil but it's the only option' train, if there is a semi decent alternative I'd love to know about it!

Checkout this link, www.auctionlotwatch.co.uk/auctions.html

Take a look at the different auction sites on there.

Ebid is good. Tazbar is very slick.
