This is hot, especially when you consider you can remap the buttons on pc to work as a midi drum kit! It's sturdier than some of the cheap midi kits you see too. Looking forward to making some beats on it soon. Voted hot. Thanks OP

Why do you never see the PS3 version of these drums for sale anywhere (especially at this sort of price)?
#9
How the hell do they make money at this price - postage alone would be half the amount! Hot!!!!
#10
Good price.

JUst bear in mind they're the RB1 set - being sold off cheap in a few places because:

1, The beatles RB drums are better/quieter (aka the RB2 drums, as they came with rockband 2 in the states)
2, The RB3 drums will be better still!

Apprently the RB1 drums are "noisy" so if that's a concern I'd cough up more and get one of the above.

A bigger concern for you might be that the RB1 drums are not compatible with cymbal upgrades - and RB3 will (optionally) use cymbals for pro mode.

That said, if you're happy with noise and don't care about eventually playing pro in RB3, this is an excellent deal. Heat added.

Got these around 6 months ago for £14.99. And yes, they now live in the garage!
#16
Great - and for £7.99 I can live with it getting bust or abandoned!
#17
These are just for nothing these days. Great fun.
#18
So if I get these what else do I need? Rock band and a guitar?
Just trying to figure out how much money I have to spend apart from the £7.95.
#19
Great deal but some greedy person bought 400 of these, so sold out now
#20
might as well leave em. new rock band 3 drums with pro cymbals are coming out soon.

The only thing that's essential for you to purchase is a Game to use the Drums with.

As Rock Band Drums are compatible with other Games, you have the option of getting either a Rock Band Game or one of the Guitar Hero Games that have Drums enabled (i.e. Guitar Hero 4: World Tour and more recently released titles).

If you want to play in a Band, in most games you will be able to play Online with other people via XBOX Live. Playing in a Band in your own home will require extra Instruments, Microphones and Guitar Controllers are available and the Guitar Controllers double up as Bass Guitars too. If you want to do this I would strongly recommend buying a Guitar Hero Guitar as they are compatible with both Rock Band and Guitar Hero Games.

Please note that most Rock Band Guitars are not compatible with Guitar Hero Titles.

I hope this Helps. ;)

Thanks Tactical Tom. That clears things up a bit.

I guess my next question would be: is this fun for musicians or is it more like crawling again now that you've learned to run? I can imagine it's fun to play with the family so I could live with the fact that it might be a step back.

No problem. All of the Rock Band & Guitar Hero Games have varying Difficulty Levels for all of their Instruments, this enables people who have no Musical skills whatsoever to start on the Easy Level and work there way upto a higher difficulty level. Experienced musicians should therefore find it easier to get to grips with and will naturally find the Difficulty Level that is more suitable for them.

For example, when using the Guitar Controller on Easy Level users will only have to hit 3 of the Guitar Coloured Fret Buttons - Green, Red and Yellow. Medium Level = 4 Frets adding in the Blue Button, and Hard Level = 5 frets adding in the Orange Fret Button. Expert Level has more notes to hit and a faster Note Board coming towards you.

The best place to see the differences between the Difficulty Levels in these Games is on YouTube. ;)
