What's the percentage for FVF? My uncle wants me to list a car for him.

Autotrader
Worked out much cheaper than Ebay sold my car with 7 days..............

I bought my Landcruiser last week on ebay and am very happy with it.

Probably will be putting my Hilux Surf on ebay in the next couple of days. In my opinion I don't think this is a very generous offer, and I will not wait until the weekend to put my car up for sale just to save £4. I want my car sale to end on a week day night and therefore will pay the normal rate and put it for sale either tonight or tomorrow. The good thing about ebay is that the car will be sold, on Autotrader it could take ages.

Just one reason why i wouldn`t trade on Ebay/Paypal.....

Hi, I thought you might be interested to hear of a recent incident Ive had with eBay/Paypal, I'll try & keep it brief. Any comments or advice would be much appreciated.

I trade electric guitars on eBay (value between £500 and £2000), have done for nearly two years, it's now my full time income, it doesnt make me rich but its fun & pays the bills. Feedback 560 at 100%

I bought a guitar a few months ago for about £500, zero feedback seller (ok, silly thing to do, but had spoken to seller on the phone). Nothing arrived so I submitted a claim for non-delivery thru Paypal. Seller then sent me a cheapo guitar (nothing like the one advertised). Because the seller had a tracking number he was awarded the claim. I was not allowed by Paypal to make another claim (for item not as described) or to submit another claim.

I explained everything in detail to Paypal but they said talk to my credit card company. So I did that & made claim thru them.

When Paypal received the chargeback from my credit card co they froze my Paypal account until Id reimbursed the amount to Pay!! Because this is my full time income, I immediately made a payment to Paypal, but it took 9 days to arrive (why does this happen when I can make an instant transfer to another Paypal user ??). Paypal have still not unfrozen my account, although they say they're reviewing it.

It's now been nearly 3 weeks & my whole business is on hold.

I have an eBay account manager but they say they can't do anything because its a Paypal issue.

Thanks !!

David

They charge a 20 quid flat rate for the first £1000 (so pretty sh1t if you're selling an old banger for a couple of hundred quid) and then 1% on anything over £1000.

It sucks, but you'd surely have experienced comparable problems running a business through another mechanism in a similar 2 year period. Hassles are just a part of everyday business life and unless you're going to radically alter you business plan and invest time and money in other outlet streams, you're tied to the hand that feeds you, associated problems and all. And Ebay have mechanisms in place, like Feedback, that can assist in safe dealing. Ignore them and things go wrong.

Now where do I find these half price motors?

I think, I can do with out this kinda problem which can arise on Ebay/Paypal and nowhere else.

"PayPal is an independent contractor for all purposes. PayPal does not have control of nor assumes the liability or legality for the products or services that are paid for with our Service. We do not guarantee the identity of any User or ensure that a buyer or a seller will complete a transaction. Please note that there are risks of dealing with underage persons or people acting under false pretence."
