I buy on ebay but try and sell my items by other means such as local paper, gumtree, CEX etc. Even Game are now taking in your unwanted electrical goods. Selling on ebay is a pain. Fees are too high, then there is the boxing up, losing out on the postage as well as some irresponsible buyers who don't read your advert and complain that their item isn't there in 4 days when it clearly says delivery 3 to 5 days in the listing. I would rather sell my stuff for a few quid cheaper locally than have to bother with ebay and would welcome an alternative.

Remember that one time ebay was small but now it's just another one of those massive companies who I don't believe employ any real people. I tried to ring them one day when I had an issue. I never ever did get to speak to anyone.
eBid has been around for years without ever being a threat to eBay. Point already proved.
Trying to gain traction against the likes of eBay is pretty futile, to be honest. eBay is so big and vertically integrated with payment processing (PayPal), it would be impossible for a site like this to compete. The only hope would be for an already big player (Facebook, Google, et al) to launch an auction service... THAT may present eBay with some credible competition. At the end of the day, people moan and whinge about eBay and its fees, but those people continue to use it because it's easy and convenient to sell there. If you really think eBay fees are unreasonable, vote with your feet and don't use it! There are plenty of alternatives, uncluding the likes of Loot and Friday Ad. However, you'd be shooting yourself in the foot!
First thing I tried to buy on here and I got scammed, paypal sorted it out though (obviously not ebid's fault though). As much as eBay needs some competition, there's no way I'd throw £50 at these guys when the place seems fairly dead of activity. If you're thinking about this at least try it out first and see how it goes, you'll probably end up pretty disappointed with the response.
Have to say that although I'd love to see a real rival to Ebay, this isn't it. I tried it a few months back and it was useless.

This is called a rip off. Sorry to offend ebay sellers who inflate their price by extorting high postage. About time Ebay charge them on their extortion.
Well maybe when you buy something with free postage you should complain to eBay and say No I will not allow a seller to be ripped off by not charging postage. Its a disgrace. As bargainhunter said it's the total price that matters. I hope you don't ever use Amazon free Super Saver delivery when you shop on Amazon coz you are unfairly reducing their profits ...oO and of course they don't factor in postage costs already coz that would be so dishonest and a rip off ..oO

good deal Ebay have just gone too far and just got too greedy if everyone stopped using them they would have to drop their fees shame ebid does not have enough users to take on ebay
I'm stopping. Like most, I've had enough. All I get these days are non-payers and stroppy buyers who you can't leave negative feedback for, so you have to cowtow to their every whim.

No it is not. It is the same price. Some people just dont have the intelligence to see. You shouldnt be on the net or answering the door. You and only you agree to the TOTAL price.
P.s they charge everyone..... which results in the buyer paying higher prices. Duh.

A lot of sellers inflate the postage price sometimes double the standard postage in order to make profit on the sale of their used products!! I had to pay about £9 for a small product for which the seller paid only paid £4 (he used a cereal box to pack the product and obviously did not pay for the package).
So what? You make it sound like you didnt agree to the total price. Ffs you are one of those clowns that think 10 pound item plus 5 postage is a rip off on postage compared to same item 15 pound with free postage, do you and others not see the obvious? Why care that postage was higher than paid price? You and only you agreed to full purchase price.

Thanks bb11 :-)

Unfortunately seems to have ended. Just a quick question please, is this just for iPhones bought direct from Apple or can it be utilised with units bought via a carrier on contract? Thanks.
Can be used for any iphone provided it is less than 12 months old ie handset still needs to be within it's first 12 months from registration. Can be checked online by inserting your serial number

Refunded as it was a mis-price.

Too good to be true - ah well, worth a shot.
Have used it on occassions, but the site of full of scam artists both buyers and sellers. If your looking for anything like a smartphone or a tablet, definitely avoid. The seller will take your money and never dispatch, so you have to wait for ages for PayPal to refund.
First Van Persie and now this! Come on Arsenal you are better than this.
Expired it - all gone.
Good luck guys!
I sold a bit as well, but you're looking at about 5 years ago. It was okay then. Not had recent experience though.

After all the links and reviews (real?) I have followed in the last hour yours is the most convincing.

think I shall steer clear of ebid.
ebid is a joke. I really wish it wasnt, but it is.
That offer has been going since at least 2009 btw.
Weren't google looking into it a few years ago. What happened to that?
I remember Yahoo auctions they were great always used them over Ebay what a shame they closed down if only they new how big they could have become.
yup as much as ebay stinks, ebid is slow for selling anything. My items are listed cheaper on there than ebay but never ever ever sell.
No point in paying for the plus membership on ebid, if they improved their search engine it may be better but it could be due to the people that overprice stuff on there that no one buys/bothers to look.

needs improving hopefully one day we will have something better than ebay

... in about 20 years then.
Great site, just a shame they don't bring in the buyers, although this price for free advertising for life is hot! Pays for itself after a couple of sales...
LOL!

I'm using my super, Sherlock Holmes like, super powers and I've deduced that this is not a popular offer. :D

Elementary my dear watson.
This site is going for years. I've sold one or two items on there in total (when I sold 100's of the same item on ebay in the same time period). Not worth bothering about.
It has been this price for ages.
