Ebuyer 4GB Corsair DDR3 Special, £59.99 Delivered

That's right guys, DDR3 is starting to drop in price rapidly. No way of knowing how low it will go but a month ago it was a real struggle to get 4GB for less than £100.

Please note two things about this module.

1. It is a single 4GB stick, most modern PCs will perform better with two matched sticks (i.e. 2x2GB) but obviously the same applies to two 4GB sticks. If I only had 2 memory slots and wanted 4GB or if I was looking to buy 8GB then this would be ideal. If you have 4 memory slots and are looking for 4GB then you would be better buying a matched pair of 2GB sticks.

2. This RAM is 1333Mhz only. In real world performance the difference between this and 1600Mhz RAM is negligable. Where it can help though is if you are looking to extreme overclock your CPU when the faster RAM is great benefit.

I haven't seen any benchmarks that show a measurable improvement by using dual or triple channel memory. This single 4GB memory stick will perform the same as 2 x 2GB. Good deal.

Why some people feel the need to vote cold just because it isn't a deal they want is beyond me....

Surely there are websites out there for you to go and amuse yourself?

Voted hot for what it is!

Can anyone please tell me if this would fit in a MAC PRO? Or if not.. point me in the direction of cheap compatible RAM. Cheers in advance ;)
#10
Sorry my MAC PRO is the first one that cam out the dual core 2.6 intel... if that helps...
#11
looks like mac pro takes DDR3 EEC RAM so this won't be compatible
#12
Thanks
#13
and some older mac pro are taking ddr2

Where can I get a 4GB stick of DDR3 for my Studio 1747 laptop?

Crikey they punish you on prices for laptop memory!
#15
Try Orca Logic?
#16
Just incase anyone doesn't know, this item doesn't have a Heat-Sink, instead they've put a corsair sticker on it! If you don't believe me have a closer look.
Still a good deal.

Great deal!

I have 12gb of 1600mhz C8 Corsair Ram, but 6 x 2gb chips. This would be great if you don't have 6 ram slots and want to load up on memory. I'd be tempted to double up, but no real need right now. :D
#18
have no need for it, but it still is a good deal!

I think you should be banned. This website is about deals not about expressing your opinion whether it's boring or not.
The deal itself is absolutely fantastic, amazing price. I'll grab one. Thanks!

I build a computer and THEN the DDR3 prices start dropping! LOL

Question here from a less tech savvy user, if I have 2GB single stick or 2X1GB or 2X2GB can I add a single stick of 4GB to the system as long as it runs at 1333Mhz. I know that they will not be true Dual or tri but they will be a lot faster on window flipping?
I need more memory as I have multi apllications open all the time, MSN, Paint, Gimp(Free version because I cannot afford Photoshop), Outlook, Mozilla etc etc
#24
Absolutely fantastic price compared to others I've been looking at recently. I normally stick to Crucial, but I couldn't pass this up - thanks, OP!
#25
thanks op, very tempted by this. why can't i edit comments thru firefox?!?!?! only seems to works thru IE

I currently have 3gb 10666 in my computer, am i correct in assuming this will work with the ram i currently have?

Edited By: bestpricebob on Aug 20, 2010 16:51: need more info
#26
will this fit in vostro 430 i7 pc ?
#27
"Will this fit"...why not go to corsair.com and find out? :p
#28
I have 3 DDR3 ram slots, 2 are currently occupied with a 2gb stick and 1gb.

Will I be able to add this stick even if the other two are not the same make or 1333mhz?

Good price.
Now if only the i7 processors drop in price then it would be a good time to build a new PC, considering all the other great deals on components lately.

The i5 760's seem to have come down a bit and there are some decent affordable boards. i7 setups don't really seem to have come down much since they were released.
