I could never understand how or why their free delivery works. They use the same couriers, they still deliver "next day" all that seems to happen is eBuyer sits on your goods for a week before they tell the courier to collect it.
I wonder if they have a 'collect counter'.

i'm guessing, that with all the orders they have, they prioritise what goes out first. they prob have a set number of pickups a day, and those pickups have a limited space. when i ordered my tv stand i received an email saying that they might upgrade my delivery at no cost depending on some situation or other. im guessing, that if they didnt fill their pickup with next day orders etc, they send out the supersaver deliveries to utilise the space on the vehicles doing the pickup.
hope that makes sense

I'm thinking of buying a tft from EBuyer, but the customer reviews on their customer service has really put me off in a big way. I'm now thinking of spending more money and buying the tft somewhere else. Has anyone any experience of them?

Delivery is normally good. The only problem I had was with a wireless network adapter I brough which stopped working after around 6 months of having, I just contacted them through email and they arranged to have the original picked up and sent me another brand new one. All been good experience from me so far.

I have been buying from ebuyer for years and have never had any problem. Goods arrived by the date they told me they would. I would reccomend them although I know that there has been a lot of unhappy customers in the past.

I have! I personally think you are wise to look elsewhere.

There will always be a number of people who never have had a problem with ebuyer, and I would say that's true...

...BUT...

it's those who have had a problem who know just how huge a problem ebuyer can make it! The amount of times I read reports of people who claim to never have had a problem with ebuyer, often claiming to spend £000's of pounds with them in the past only to regret it once they do have a problem is astounding.

You can find countless reports on the web about dissatisfied customers - here's just one example:

http://www.blagger.com/db4/company_id/630/companyname/Ebuyer.co.uk-+-Ebuyer.com.html

Unfortunately, ebuyer controls who and how you contact them. They sometimes have a telephone number, it's often the expensive 0870 type which they either never answer, or worse still answer and put you on hold - it can be a very long hold and can result in them then just dropping the call so you try again. All the time they are making money from you out of that expensive 0870 number - yes 0870 owners get paid by the minute when you call them!

As for emails - well they don't accept them! They have their own system which you must use. They might respond, they might not - until they do you can't write again about that item you have a problem over. If you, or even they, write something they don't like or regret, they may edit/delete it so you have no evidence (unless like me you took screen-grabs of everything! - it was only when they realised I had this and meant business that I got my refund off them after about 2 months of wrangling)

South Yorkshire Trading Standards have a huge file of complaints against the company. Last time I checked, ebuyer also had a list of outstanding CCJs against them so fighting them in court could be a case of good money after bad.

Now I know there are a lot of people who sing the companies praises, and this site has a lot of such people so I wouldn't be surprised if there is now 100+ posts supporting them, but you must make up your own mind.

Prices are usually cheap and if all goes well you'll probably end up with a super bargain. However if things go wrong, then that huge headache you'll have may mean you wished you'd spent a little more elsewhere.

Thanks for that info everyone. In this particular case I think I'll give them a miss as I'm ordering a tft, so potential for problems, and also I can get the same tft elsewhere for £5 more.
