Sir should be looking toward the White Lightening 2009, with maybe a dash of Carlsburg Special Brew on the top.

From the article: "In an exclusive BBC interview, Lucy Neville-Rolfe, Tesco's director for corporate affairs, says in the absence of government action they have to compete on price"

I dont understand Echo Falls marketing. Its been out for a few years in Yates at £4.99 a bottle. Since then I've been trashed on it many times and the name echo falls makes me gip. Now if you go into a local off licence its over £6 a bottle.
#16
I have seen some rubbish wines.... usually £4.99 in most small off licences/shops.... have their RRP pushed up to £9 odd in tesco, only to then be 'reduced' to £5-6.

I dislike tesco. Poor quality food too IMO, compared to Sainsburys/Morrisons and now even Asda.

Shame they are opening up everywhere and not the others
#17
echo falls are usually 3 for a tenner down our local offie.... so this is a good price.

Hardly a massive bargain; 3 for a tenner in my local shop. I'd rather give the extra 30p a bottle to help keep them in business and avoid Tesco if possible.

Save £2.90 if you buy the 6. (extra bottle free)

The Rose Zinfandel is a bit sweet, that is if you like your wine dry.

All the white was sold out today in my local T store at lunch time, apart from one solitary bottle of Chardonnay.

It doesn't matter what time of day I go to get these offers, the vultures have already got there before me!! Hence I had to try the rose and the merlot and made the 6 bottles up out of other wines.

Lovely marketing from Tesco ..... they have many so called 'half price' wines on the end of aisle 'special offer wines', (those offered for sale at double the price in one store, they can then sell them at the so called 'half price' now) and these Echo Falls are all on the very bottom shelf, you almost have to out you back out to get at them.

How are you working that one out..... 5% of £18 is 90p

Here goes 'Vorderman' at his best...

Boggybill post #18, said he was happy to pay £10 for 3 bottles.... So 6 bottles would be £20.... 6 bottles at Tesco with the 5% discount = £17.10, resulting in a saving of £2.90 over 6 bottles (1 bottle free)

Drinking the merlot right now. It's not the best. Tell you what is amazing for £3 is the Angel's Falls Sunset Red in Asda. It's pretty close to the £30 bottle of Neuf du pappa I had for me birthday.
