ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN Original Album Series (2010 UK issue 5-CD album set) comprised of the best selling and critically acclaimed album releases Crocodiles, Echo & The Bunnymen, Heaven Up Here, Ocean Rain and Porcupine; each album is housed in a mini LP-style card picture sleeve with the complete set presented in a sealed card slipcase.

Along with Teardrop Explodes and Wah! Heat, Echo & the Bunnymen were part of the early-1980s Liverpool scene that was somewhat misleadingly dubbed "neo-psychedelic." While the Bunnymen bore elements of the Doors' dark, mysterious sound and decidedly abstract lyrics, punk played as much of a role in the development of the band's music as anything else. What marks their sound more than anything else, though, is a soaring, anthemic quality that can be quite affecting. After a lengthy hiatus, the band reunited in the early 2000s to tour and record.

amazing price, dont forget to go through Quidco as well

it's a pity it's not the expanded CDs, but still a decent price.
#3
hmm. fact these are not the expanded releases implies that they are not using the 25th anniversary remasters. shame if that is the case, as those remasters really improve on the original CDs, IMHO. if these are the remasters, just in original sleeves, sans bonus tracks then this is a billy bargain of the highest order. i still play these albums all the time, and they never get stale.

Expanded or not this is a great price for 5 superb albums (OK, the last one wasn't up to the standard of the others but it's still very good). Hot.

Me? I'm all smiles.

the 2010 release date suggests that they should be the remastered versions but if not you could always return it

this: http://markbarrydiscographies.blogspot.com/2010/02/original-album-series-5cd-box-sets-by.html suggests that this is not using the remasters. great albums, agree, and the old discs did me fine until the remasters, but they sounded so flat in comparison to the 25th anniversary versions.

i was referring to the comment on this page that said:

"Personally, I want remastered and based on the Echo and the Bunnymen set that I just received, these are not. Even though these albums have been remastered relatively recently!"
