Was just thinking about descaling the coffee machine the other day whilst having a poo. So perfect timing, will give this a shot on the nespresso, thanks.

Good price OP,
Alternitavely you could try the Oust one. I use it on my Dolce Gusto machine and it's only £1 for 3 sachets in Tesco

Takes all night to work! Standard coffee machine de-scalers don't.

I can't imagine anything more annoying about a de-scaler than to come downstairs expecting a proper cup of coffee to realise that I am going to have to finish cleaning the machine and flushing it through first

That's what they say - "Our easy to use overnight formula." One or two reviews complain about that too.

Way too much information oO

I thought coffee was a natural descaler/cleaner? Not sure where I read that.. Perhaps it was just benjai's comment?

Take two tablespoons of this stuff the next time you need to "descale" yourself oO

For real moneysavers, this is not much of a deal. It says to pour 100ml in your machine, the bottle contains 500ml, so this will only do 5 cleans.

The main ingredient of this is citric acid. You can buy a big ol' 100mg bag of food grade citric acid on fleabay for less than two quid and it'll last you years. Dissolve a spoonful or two in water and run it through your machine to descale.

I use toilet cleaner to de-scale the kettle.
You only need a few drops.

I'll keep that in mind and send it on to "Top Tips" in Viz - using Vinegar stinks a kettle out for weeks, toilet cleaner might just last months!

Probably why it take forever to work then, yes citric acid is fine in a kettle at boiling temperatures, I have used it myself before, easy to get packs of it in Asian shops; but not all parts in a coffee machine gets quite so hot.
