Product Description
Ecoballs® wash system care for your clothes, your washing machine and your environment.

Ecoballs® stand for everything we believe in; they are natural, environmentally friendly, efficient and cost-effective, and deliver a clean, fresh, sensitive alternative to conventional washing powders that pollute our water supply, reduce the lifespan of our washing machine and break down the very clothing they're supposed to care for.

Environmentally friendly Ecoballs® are a scientific breakthrough in cleaning technology. Just place the three Ecoballs® in your washing machine instead of detergent. They are reuseable for up to 1000 washes and costs on average 3p per wash. There are no harsh chemicals so less pollution. Rinse cycle can be shortened saving water and electricity. They will not fade bright colours or damage clothing fibres.

Hypoallergenic so suitable for sensitive skins/eczema (including babies and children). Ecoballs® softens clothes even in hard water. As your clothes will be softer no fabric conditioner is necessary. Ecoballs® are also anti-bacterial and kills Escherichia Coli and Staphylococcus Aureus.

Thanks for the info; so what i can gather is that they get clothes clean, but they just don't smell like they've been washed.

I've used lakeland's version which is a single ball so obviously cheaper to buy. It does get clothes as clean but I was disappointed with the number of washes I got out of mine - maybe if every wash was a 30 wool wash you might get the full amount of washes but using on a standard wash you wouldn't. I only got about 70% of the number of washes stated so didn't really work out any cheaper than normal washing liquid when on offer. One advantage is the amount of cupboard space needed for storage though!!!

I really liked the look of these but a friend informed me that her husband used them for his washing (yes they each do their own washing!!) and that she used to wait for him to go away then quickly washed and dried all his clothes "properly" because she reckoned his clothes smelt. She suggested that they were ok so long as you washed stuff with detergent every so many washes. That put me off, the idea of working out how many times an item had been washed and deciding whether it needed detergent this time or not just seemed too much work.

Yes they do work very well on lightly soiled clothing BUT whites start to look dingy as most modern washing powders & liquids use optical brighteners. I use these for lightly soiled items, Ecover liquid for cool washing heavier soiled items & Ecover powder for washes over 40 degrees & Ariel non-bio for whites as I haven't yet found an eco friendly washing solution that doesn't result in dingy whites long term. We all have sensitive skin & have had no problems since I changed to these.Eco dryer balls @ £8-£10 are also very good as they definitely reduce tumble drying time & reduce creasing even if not using fabric conditioner although they make thudding noises in the drum. Using both washing & dryer balls you don't need fabric conditioner but Ecover do a good one if you feel the need. I confess to using a dryer except on the sunnniest days but I don't iron ANYTHING! By the way my friends think I do iron as there is little perceptical difference for most clothing. Hope this helps someone especially if they have problems with eczema like my son did before.

Good to know the dryer balls work, have ordered some this week, I only use the dryer when absolutely urgent and for towels but it would be good to think I could reduce the time the dryer is on. All good for keeping the electricity bill down. I don't iron that often either, only when the ironing mountain becomes a volcano and I am forced to. I hate ironing!!:-D

never heard of these before, really thinking of getting some of these as we have got 5 kids with 4 of them under 5 years old & all there clothes keep getting dirty.

Hope it will be money well spent

These certainly seem like a good idea, I'm quite tempted to give them a go.

Looking at the biggreensmile.com website I quite like the sound of the Magnoball and the MagnoFuel. Has anyone any experience of these??

For anyone looking for dryer balls I have seen them in Poundland and Everything is a Quid recently. Also in Asda (but at higher price)

If anyone wants a set of these nearly new with bos then i have a spare set.they are the proper eco balls and not a copy. I didnt think they would last very long so i bought two sets and yep you guessed it they last forever ! have 3 children under 10 BTW and they are fab (the balls that is, the kids are pests)

My friend's hubby's a fireman and she uses the ecoballs to wash his gear and they work really well. She also has a baby and uses them on his dirty nappies with no problems. You get a stain remover that goes with it for particularly tough stains.
#20
what I want to know is can you use them with a washer dryer? Our washing machine starts drynig straight after washing...
#21
The eco balls instructions say they must not be used in a dryer so not ideal for a washer dryer unless you can do wash only then remove or swop for dryer balls?!
