Eddie Izzard recently broke box office records selling out a five-week residency in London's West End in less than forty-eight hours.
STRIPPED, which came hot on the heels of his American sell-out tour across 34 US cities, including three nights at New York's legendary Radio City Music Hall, was indisputably the hottest ticket of 2008 on both sides of the Atlantic.
Now Eddie, the man who turned talking bollocks into an art form, has announced he will tour the UK with STRIPPED. This will be his first UK tour in six years.
Eddie has agreed a 24 hour priority booking window for fans at http://www.eddieizzard.com starting 10am Thursday 29th January 09.

Excellent! Thanks for the heads-up. Just booked my tickets for Cardiff in November.

went to see eddie when he did his sexy tour and he was amazing well worth seeing. Would love to go again but now have 5 kids rather than 3 so harder to get a sitter and cash is alot tighter.

I wish he'd do some smaller Gigs. I saw his last tour (sheffield arena) and while he was magnificent the atmosphere was rubbish.

Good spot though, didn't even know he was touring again.

I used to love Eddie Izzard, but I've found that whilst his acting is getting better and better, his standup has become gradually worse. =(
#16
Got 4th row at Sheffield. Never seen him live before but have all the DVDs, looking forward to it.

It's also sorted out the wife's birthday present already, which is a couple of weeks before the gig!
#17

£30 + £5 booking fee + postage + whatever other fees are added to see him (with binoculars) at Wembley?
#21
I saw this in the West End and though some was very funny half had dug way back in to the dustiest shelves of the museum of comedy. Seriously lacking in originality and rather forgetting to credit his audience with enough intelligence for far too much of the time. I thought.
#22
Just got 4 for Manchester on the floor Row L seats 10-13! Heat and Rep!

Sad but true.

Saw him recently in London doing this show, and while it has its moments, it's not a patch on his peak of almost 15 years ago. Making him a shedload more money though.

I've seen him live on 5 different tours now, and each has been progressively worse. I certainly wouldn't pay the sort of money I shelled out last month to see him again.

To be honest, I'd recommend you throw the money at DVDs of his best stuff - Unrepeatable and Definite Article.

Well, exactly......there are as many fans of comedy as there are styles of comedy, and each to his own as you rightly say. I've Got a lot of his stuff on mp3......always wanted to see him so very grateful to the OP for an early heads up!!
#35
Ace! Just got some tickets for the SECC - been wanting to see Izzard for ages!
#36
£35 plus £5 booking fee for London - I'm obviously alone in thinking this is an overpriced rip-off
#37
same old act,

now very old hat and boring

a 1 joke wonder........ and no doubt a fake TV , just a gimmick for his comedy.........

Jerry Sadowitz used to regularly give me evils outside his magic shop in London as he'd get on his bike.

Sadowitz also isn't particularly great these days. Less swearing, more of the magic and punchlines please, fella.

@Cats - - Phew, ... for a moment there I thought you were being serious.
