Edelweiss Weissbier (also spelled Edelwei?Wei?ier) is a type of white beer, or more specifically, weissbier, a culturally and historically specific style of white beer, brewed near Salzburg, Austria by Hofbr?Kaltenhausen.

The name Edelweiss is used as a metaphor for the beer's purity and singular uniqueness. The flower is not mentioned as an ingredient, but obtains its floral nature from the top fermented brewing process and its ingredients: pure alpine water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops and top fermented yeast.

A very poor weissbier, and only 10p less per bottle than the standard price of Erdinger at Tesco.

Indeed, weihenstephan green label is only £1.27 at Asda, although that's the Kristal version.

if you are get used to drinking cheap beer and cider your taste has most likely deteriorated.
i've tried all these beers and for me Edelweiss is best. Many other reviews confirm it, for example: http://alwaysthecritic.typepad.com/atc/2009/06/beer-review-erdinger.html so your taste is not too good. I know other people's taste might be different, but comparing Erdinger to Edelweiss is like comparing a mass produced table from Ikea to a hand made table from a joiner with years of experience.

IMO it is a very good deal - you won't find Edelweiss beer cheaper. Therefore voting it cold only based on the taste (which we know that yours is crap) is a bit daft. Find me a better deal to prove it otherwise.
