Worth a look.
nice find op

"total rip off" is a bit strong. I agree that it's not cheap, but it's not like they make a profit. And most plant-lovers love the place.
I really should make an effort to go more often. I work from home <20 miles from the Eden Project, and I keep meaning to spend the occasional day working from the tropical dome.
I am only an average gardener but feel that prices are unjustifiable.
As a registered charity I cannot see how they could fail to make a substantial profit with the admission and food prices that they charge.
It turned us off visiting Hegelian.

Englishman we went yesterday @ a cost of £25 each and we all agreed that it was only worth £5 and a total rip off for all food & drinks as well.

As the OP has described it as a "Eden Project Summer Local's Pass", I presume it's only available to one local person, so if he or she has already got a pass then no-one else can have one.
I think what the OP really means is that this is a "Eden Project Summer Locals' Pass". Perhaps he should have a look at this site before posting deals in the future?http://www.eng-lang.co.uk/apostrophe_rules.htm
What a plank!!!! You have commented on numerous posts and **** people off. Does us all a favour if it's not constructive leave the site and take your sad little head and place it in to a toilet. Just saying

"Does us all a favour"?????

I shouldn't really respond to trolls but I would suggest that you and Shaydog enrol in some English lessons if you wish to make yourselves understood. And if you have nothing to offer but abuse then I would suggest refraining from posting on this site until you've learnt some manners.

Oh ok... lol.....wasn't sure about that smiley.... Its a kind of a bit unsure looking....lol... dunno....
I think I'm a bit hukd'd out today, especially now I'm seeing things in smiley faces X) ....
I've been looking all day for deals and found nothing at all... . I think I need a good cup of tea and a darkened room.
No worries X)
lol take a break but Im gutted I missed the towel rail deal you posted. None in stock in the nearest 10 stores near me.
could have really done with that. That smiley was a wink. Finding it tough to post deals. As most sales have finished and just offer of the day deal. You have better sources than I do. ;)
Haha I'd love to take a break, but I find deal finding a bit addictive :| , especially since giving up smoking. I was a bit addicted to 'online' window shopping before; because I do a lot of my shopping online, but now I have the ability to put this browsing to some use on hukd it's made me even worse. oO
I normally find a couple of deals a day, but yesterday was awful... I literally was sat here all day and found nothing with any decent stock levels worthy of posting.
I'm not sure about the 'better sources' thing..... I live in the middle of nowhere, I have no shops on my doorstep and I'm a 100 miles from the nearest big place with supermarkets and big shops... all I have is the internet and my insomnia at my disposal.....lol X).

lol are you sure we don't live in the same area :). No chance of finding any deals in store unless its in poundland.
Trying to find at least 1 a day but not easy. I use the offer of the day but plenty of people use that and so many deals I want to post are already here. Well done on posting the deals and that's flamedeer prize was more than deserved seeing how many you have posted. Hopefully, a golden flamedeer will be thrown in my direction this year lol :)

Visiting Eden costs a fortune for anyone living 'up North' and the S/east - in travel costs, accommodation and entry fees. If anyone should get a subsidy it should be those - not locals living within spitting distance.
The same could then be said for anyone visiting anywhere that isn't local?! I'd love a subsidy to visit attractions across the country because I have to pay to travel to get there and stay o/n. I still wouldn't be able to afford the time / cost though so arguably it is better to encourage people who could visit regularly?

It's the same as paying the normal ticket price you just look for the gift aid box and tick it!

Why would you want to go there more than once?

I live 15 miles away; the tropical dome is a great place to hang out on a cold winter's day.

Good price. However for anyone who has yet to see this attraction I would advise you not to bother: the place is tiny and the exhibits/biospheres underwhelming (and it's not like it's easy to get to either). A very disappointing experience.

I think that's a bit strong but I did get tired of the all the 'green nagging' throughout. Been once, don't need to go again.

I agree bit misleading unless you are used to going on a damn safari, the place is awesome and how many places like it exist in the UK?

Great deal and great day out on more than one occasion
Sambat
They don't want to attract tourists then.......
. What tourist don't understand is that after the summer when they have all gone home and its just is locals left, a lot of our jobs are finished. So we have to scrimp and save and live off asda smart price untill you come back down. Eden understands this and makes it Easyer for us to live a half interesting life. Good on them.

They don't mention the TQ postcode this year, so i've emailed to ask, rubbish if they don't include it!!

We were down there today and I specially asked the very bored young man at the ticket place if he could confirm that the torquay postcode area was included as my email hadn't included it. He looked at me as if I were demented and said 'All Devon & Cornwall'.
Eden emailed me today and all postcodes included in devon and cornwall. Special offer to celebrate 10 years of eden- can get 2 year pass also for £10.
I have lived in cornwall for about 8 years, I have been here about 4 times and by the second I was bored! Worth going once but not a years pass.

We do this every year and it's done to "give something back to locals" as they put it. Worth it for the ice skating season alone. Cheers OP!!

Um I have done this for past three year's, and have never know it to include the ice skating!

Thou I can say when I went back in september it was'nt that bus. Thou brings all sorts of people there, and never thought I be having a lovely chat with young lady as I left. Good sport, shame I got another four months left on mine anaul pass.

At no point did I say it included the fee for Ice Skating, I simply meant that not having to pay for entry to Eden in order to go ice skating is a bonus!

Read what I write rather than add your own interpretation, it works wonders.......

Well maybe it's my take on thing's that, they should either combine the ice skating with the admission really, or, maybe you get a differant coloured badge where they could police who pais for just ice skating, just the bymoes or both. That would be more fair to people who just wanted todo the ice skating.
Red hot from me, even though I too live 571 miles away

If you've never been, it's worth going to tick it off the list of cool places to visit. We got in in the Summer with the Gardener's World 2 for 1 offer; rest assured I'd have been GUTTED if I'd paid full entry price. It's an amazing feat of engineering, and it's interesting to look at stuff and marvel at how they've managed to grow big tropical things in the UK, but it was jam packed, hot and sweaty, and TBH unless you have an avid interest in plants and the patience of a saint (eg can tolerate being basically shoved around the place by the volume of people in there), there's not much else to see ... and the food hall is a big fat expensive rip off.

Highlight for me was the fact the Park and Ride buses/carparks were named after fruit lol

I posted similar info on the Eden project in prior years and sour grapes then. Personally the place is educational and worth a visit just for that. I enjoy a trip to the jungle in the depths of winter, it's very warming and without the crowds very earthy and relaxing. Makes for a good day out, encourages me to take friends and relatives when they visit, a great idea.
Much more pleasing than the angel of the north...
True, but if you drew a big circle on a map around london you'd see that more people would be in the catchment zone than in its current position (i.e. draw the same circle on a map around where it is today and half of it would be in the sea). Also most people could travel to London easily, as the transport to London is generally good from anywhere in England. It was a nightmare for me to get to the Eden projet when I went there in Spring. Some of the roads weren't up to it imo. I think the comments above sort of agree with that. It just seems a bit of a waste having such a brilliant attraction so out of the way. Only problem would be finding somewhere in quite as nice an area to put it.

SHould have found a site near London to get more coverage imo.
Screw London. They have their fair share of....well...everything already down there! :p

Don't get me wrong, most of the locals do welcome the tourist trade, otherwise they wouldn't even get the minimum wage as there is very little manufacturing jobs left esp in Cornwall, but it is nice to see something given back to the locals for a change rather than the negatives, we do live in a beautiful part of the world, but we do pay a price for that in one way or another, and unfortunately it is also fact that the majority of people who have benefited the most from the tourist trade are not people born and bred in the counties, it is usually people who have the werewithal to move from another part of the country to buy a little b & b / smal hotel etc, it is fact that for the majority of people in the area earn less than the national average wage but house prices etc are pushed up to higher than the national average. We don't have shops down here like home bargains or b & m bargains, some of our town centres are so tourist orientated, mostly cheap beach shops, high end surf wear shops , takeaways and ice cream shops.
SWW are a rip off when it comes to water, my water rates are £127 per month for a band c property, my neice pays £96 per month for a band a property, having lived in other parts of the country, the water bills were far cheaper, Lancaster £37 per month, Scotland £16 per month, Newcastle £40 per month etc etc.
We welcome people to visit our area, but don't begrudge us our little perks, they are few and far between.

People voting cold because they're not eligible for the deal ? That would be pretty pathetic wouldn't it ?

Went last year and thought it was great. Would be happy to take the kids back there this year.
Don't see why this is cold - even if it is only for the yocals. Good deal.

Only good for the locals? :?

Yeah sorry still Devon and Cornwall is a big area. better than say local deals for Alton towers I think that is only for the local village only because of the noise.
Only good for the locals? :?
