Another one of the better cards, basically a cut down version of the CycloDS Evolution, though not by the same company. It had a Golden award at GBA Temp.

MicroSDHC compatible
100% ROM compatibility
100% Download Play compatibility
Soft Reset works 100%
Auto-DLDI patching
PassMe functionality
Sturdy build
Cheat system works great
Very fast and responsive menus
Different menu view options
Any number of skins on your card at once

Pretty good card for the price, check the review for more details....Direct link, review and official site for updates are in the next post....

EDGE Official Site

Get the firmware updates here - Needs to be installed before you can use it but it's easy enough if you follow the instructions.

GBA Temp review of the EDGE

Also if you need a cheap memory card to go with it then consider a Kingston MicroSD TransFlash 2GB Memory Card (JAPAN) - £6.21. Don't be put off by it being a Japan version as it usually performs better on various DS flash cards running problematic games such as Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

If you want a Rumble Pack to go with it you can get the Ewin Rumble Pack for NDS Lite for approx £2.23 (converted from $4.43) from dealextreme as well.

Is this better or worse than the DSTT deal posted recently?
#3
voted hot for price but better to buy m3 ds real + rumble pack imo
#4
Wasn't the R4DS rumoured to get a firmware update to support SDHC as well? If not then I might have to grab one of these.
#5
ive had a few of these....best on the market by far.
sdhc compatible.
no spring loaded slot
played everything ive thrown at it
AWESOME

Excellent low price card. The Supercard DS One from Dealextreme is a better card but I prefer the interface on the Edge. It matches the CycloDS interface and has similar compatibility. Other cards such as the TTDS aren't even in the same league.

This is the next best cart from CycloDS, as its a clone of it. But misses out on some extra features. I guess thats the difference with £30 or £16:thumbsup: at this price this is the one to go for instead of the retired r4ds:roll:

Is this for DS roms or GBA roms. I'm guessing DS?

Why is the SuperCard better than this please?

I was going to buy this as it finally in stock but if the SuperCard is better I'll buy it (but I need to know why first please). Thanks.

The Supercard One has Real Time Save and fuller Slot 2 support. Essentially, the CycloDS and SupercardOne are slugging it out to be the best card. The CycloDS currently has a slight advantage.
#19
only thing with dealxtreme is it takes at least a month if not more for items 2 arrive, even wen in stock.

CycloDS has Real Time Save as well. Not sure what you on about fuller slot 2 support? Unless you mean like gba rom, ramble and ram cart. Works fine here.

My last order with them was placed on 17/04, shipped 19/04 & delivered 25/04. Similar to the time scales for the R4DS I ordered at Christmas.

It received a Silver award at GBAtemp as it's lacking folder browsing, is difficult to sort through long lists as can't be organised alphabetically and slightly lags while doing so. Also it didn't have 100% game compatibility. You should only use the review as a starting point as with time companies usually fix these problems with firmware updates (which is why you should update you're card as soon as you get it) though you should see if you can find a more recent review first or check the cards site for updates if you're thinking of buying it as not all companies are good with updates.

You can get a rumble pack if you really want one for approx £2.23 ($4.43) from deal extreme....I've linked it in my second post along with the other links (first page).

There was an update to 1.18 last Thursday but I don't know what it does.

Ok I am not 100% sure about this, but I was told that this card can blow a chip in the ds, don't want to worry people but I think you should do some homework

You are referring to the N5 cart?

You mean the same Acekard 2 deal that I posted 2 weeks before your Acekard 2 deal? I'm not trying to be funny but it's usually better to post a reply to the original deal saying that the price has gone down since it's been posted rather than taking up more space by posting a second near identical deal (with a price difference)....otherwise people would be at it all day with certain price volatile sites such as ebuyer etc. and you knew the original deal existed as you was kind enough to comment on it (thank you btw....it's good to know it doesn't always take a month to arrive). :)

The Acekard 2 is indeed a great deal but it depends on the person's needs....e.g. for people who like using action replay cheats on their DS cards but aren't very technical then the EDGE card would be a better choice for them as there's over 300 cheats ready to be used straight away. For those who are more technical and want more than the 300 odd cheats or can't wait for the next update for a new game then they'd find the Acekard 2 a better deal as they can manually add any action replay cheat to the card without waiting, though it's much more technical to do so for most. >_<

p.s. Acekard 2 deal has gone down in price yet again....maybe someone should do a new deal for it? :whistling:

As your post was almost 2 weeks old it would not show in the new section and a new deal it was as the difference was over 10%.
As it didn't appear in the new part then it could never be found by anyone to be voted hot or cold.
So its better to post the new altered deal as noone is going to think 'hmm i wonder if there are acekard deals i can vote on?'

Also i cant alter the price in your thread making the title obselete and i dont know if you are going to change it and/or are active etc.

Price of the acekard hasn't changed since i posted it either.

All irrelevant anyway as people dont know the name so wont vote on it either way.

The CycloDS does have Real Time Save but the Edge doesn't. You are correct about slot 2 support - it's just that the SupercardOne makes it easier (the latest Beta firmware for the CycloDS makes it easier still but does not apply to the Edge).

Both.

Not quite true - the edge (and all other Slot1 carts) has no real way of dumping a nds cart.

You can of course use NDS Backup Tool via wifi, but at upto 2hours per game (average of 20-30mins per game) it's far easier to download for your average user.
