Listed weeks ago on here, be lucky to find any good titles left anywhere now!

hhmmm interesting as the last offer with these was because the contract with Vue had finished. Wonder if they are winding up completely.

I remember this thread well but this store was not included and it is now over a month old so OK to post.

Tempted to go and have another look at my local, but I doubt it has been restocked with new or even existing titles.
Bought 18 when originally posted, but at least I have a Blu-ray drive for my PC now :p

Got the Alien Anthology and watched the first last night, I was absolutely blown away by the quality (More so than any of the discs I previously bought).

Hold on, the last offer was all DVD's & BluRays at £2. Definately going to check this out on my lunch break in 5 minutes.
#6
Heat added :)
I think the last one had DVDs at £2 too, so if they're reduced to £1, that's even better :D
#7
The Vue in Fulham still has quite a few DVDs left. No Blu-Rays though.
#8
Nearest POP to me is 35 miles away in Brighton. I never took much interest in them until I saw the cheap prices.

Was at my local Empire Cinema today and the machine there was turned off, so dunno if they will restock it or turn it back on.

Please don't!! I'm planning on going there to pick some up for myself!
Do you happen to recall any of the Blu-Ray titles they've got? :)

Dont want to throw a spanner in the works but is this not rental per night.
My wife works for Asda and they have a machine similar to this at work but you rent DVD's per night. If you dont take it back after 15 days they charge you £25 per DVD and you get to keep it.

Wish I knew about this before they all got shut down, fairly certain my local one is switched off :(

Admittedly, I'm not 100% sure, because I'm not currently at my billing address so haven't checked my mail of late. But I'd say I'm about 99.9% sure.
I'm almost completely certain it's something completely different :)
Pretty sure they have the words 'Buy' all over the machine, and not 'Rent' :)

most definately buy and it said clearout on my local machine, however it has been cleared out lol and they all come out sealed in plastic so no its not a rental.

I didn't think so :)
Ever so slight moment of panic there, 'til my sense kicked in :p

Great deal, was going to post this myself. Picked up the following lastnight Lock Stock, Layer Cake and Snatch boxset in a tin, Ricky Gervais Science, Vampires assistant, Inglurious Basterds, District 9 and The Bounty Hunter all for £1 each at Vue in Watford. Had loads of other DVDs but no others I wanted or didnt already have. No blu rays left.
#25
This is not rental, is buy to keep

Stirling Vue had a decent selection of £1 DVDs left, no blu rays left

really peeved - the machine has been broke for a month and been popping in every two days -the week I go away they fix it - the bastich ! anyway a couple of blue rays left - Shaun of the dead and Hot Fuzz - I think they maybe 18 and you need a credit card for that - a couple of decent DVDs - picked up Robin Hood & Cemetry Junction and several kids films for £1 each.

That is annoying ><
Thanks for the update, though :)
That's so annoying about needing a credit card for 18s!
I wanted to get Pineapple Express on Blu-Ray weeks ago from one of the machines, and me having a debit card, it wouldn't let me ><
Awesome getting Robin Hood and Cemetery Junction for £1 though :)
I might go have a look.

Now that would be funny :p
I think I would throw myself off a cliff.

no point in checking, ways some numpty clearing them out and selling them on ebay for high prices - i mean not even selling them for £4 for the blurays to make double their money and still sell for a good price, no they sell for £8 - get greedy and nobody buys them as its cheaper to buy new elsewhere like play or hmv for £6.

if i had one of these near me, id probably buy a load of blurays, but no more than 1 of each. because no matter what the film*, if its £2 on bluray its a must have in the collection.

* brokeback mountain or other films of that sort, excluded. not in my house!

ended up stumbling across this yesterday as i was waiting to be served and was stunned that there were dvds at a £1 each, got the international first as a taster, then was further shocked to find they were sealed dvds. then went to watch paul which i might add was brilliant. then thought i would go back to the machine and get all that i was interested in :D

I enjoyed this a lot :)
But not as much as your picture :D
(P.S. If you spoil this week's episode for me, I will find you and I will kill you!)

The Lancaster (Vue) machine is out of Blu-ray discs, but still quite a reasonable selection of £1 DVD's if people are interested.

lol, a bleach fan i see XD

luckily il keep my life and wont be able to spoil it for you as i read the manga XD yet to start watching the anime, cant wait though to see what the differences are :)

The machines in Harrow. The one outside had only one dvd which was dancing with the stars, the one inside apparently had 4 dvds and a billy connolly bluray but I put my card in and it wouldn't work just said "please wait" for about a minute before I gave up and went in to see tangled.

Thanks to the OP for this, always nice to see a deal for the town where you live! Popped into Westend news this morning and was surprised to see it still pretty well stocked. Lots of decent blurays and DVDs left after I picked mine up including district 9, public enemies etc. These Pop machines have helped me build up a pretty decent bluray collection now . It's odd how people don't seem to notice these machines even with the crazily cheap prices.

i've not read the manga, but i am very tempted to start and see what it's like :)
i'd highly recommend starting the anime as soon as you can!! i started it when they were up to about 250 episodes, and i caught up within about two months :D:p
it was quite impressive ^^
it's amazingly addictive! it won't disappoint :D

vue in dagenham has got a fair few comedy ones left - i picked up bill bailey and gervais's ones for a quid each - and got the other boylen girl for the missus - still has a few more in there, including complete bagpuss if you have young kids!

only got brnuo left in vue thurrock

and only the old inglorious b*sterds in romford vue
#38
ps if you're picking an 18 certificate dvd (i think gervais's one was 18) - then you cant use debit card but have to use credit card????
#39
Had a look in at the Empire High Wycombe earlier. Nothing on offer. Looks like this must be limited to the Vue cinemas still mostly.

yeah, they seem to use that as an age verification sort of thing, which is annoying.
you can still be 18+ without having a credit card! ><
i wish they'd just have an option to pay by cash.
