I dont mind cashback deals, however i dont understand that if the deal costs £5.99 in the end ..... why you would need to pay £17.99 to start off with, unless it is because they gain so much more commission from EE due to the higher price charged.

£5.50 a month...
Effectively £4.25 / month after £15+ cashback via https://www.topcashback.co.uk/mobilespayg-and-accessories/

e2save have the same deal if anyone prefers them

I'm not sure, who gets commission and how much, but if you go through EE direct this deal is £17.99 without cashback. Sooo, either EE is keeping prices up, or there is something else going on.

In any case, it's a good offer for £5.50 p/m for what you get...you can't even get a PAYG for that amount for month...well you can, but you better not call, text or use data :P

Btw. why are ppl voting cold for this? It didn't get such coldness last year.

Peeps tend not to like redemption deals; some consider it too much hassle to meet the individual claim conditions, and there seems to be more instances of people struggling to extract redemption payments even when apparently meeting claim conditions, plus there is always the possibility that all will be lost if the retailer ceases trading, like the phones4u case.

i think this is a good deal- yes it is a cashback but at least from a reputable seller.

Hm, I get your point, just interestingly it got much more heat last year for more or less the same deal from the same company.

EE no way stay clear.

So was p4u. Many HUKD members has fingers burned by lost redemption when that company ceased trading.
#13
that is absolutely true but whats the alternative. Go direct with companies who then part way through the term shaft customers with a price increase?

Signed up for this last year except it was £15 a month before cashback at the time.
Didn't have any issues with cashback, just upload PDF bill that you can download from EE and wait for a cheque in the post. My cashback was usually approved in 2 days and I received a cheque within 2 weeks afterwards.

Me too, mobiles.co.uk and e2save are the only company I would do cashback deals on because it's easy and they will pay out, they've been around a long time, and yes this is a very good deal

Just about to post is deal when it found yours, yes good deal, been with mobiles.co.uk last year no problem all claimed and paid only issue being currently with EE would have to port away and come back bit of a game. So rang EE selected option 4 thinking of leaving requesting pak code or what deal could they do ??

Retentions deal using above as comparison and got offered 1gb 1000mins ultd text 4.99 including vat for 12 months not quite as good but saves a lot of hassle and dont use over 1gb data anyway so went with that.

may help some people.

I have a feeling this is purely on your luck, who you speak to, and on what day. I've been following few threads here, and only a really small number seem to be able to get really good retention deals.

I was offered that same deal as you got for £11.99 pm, and they weren't willing to budge, even after saying that I'll leave.

I agreed luck of the draw, best thing is ring back on several days till yoi get the deal you want, you may get a CR who needs the accounts.

My last deal with mobiles.co.uk worked out at £2.99 a month after cashback.

I would have ported away and back if it was a lot £££ difference, just keeping an eye open in case something better pops up within in 14 days.
