It's been the norm since the Virgin 20gb sim deal came out. Has been posted several times

It what around last month but now back without the BTSports offer.

Mention the virgin deal.

They will tell you that they don't match other providers. Apparently EE is superior and reliable and that's why it's more expensive

Well you must be one of the unlucky ones as they have been giving this deal to many. A few family members and friends have also been offered the same.

I upgraded mine and my wife's EE accounts to this deal a few hours ago(from a different thread), quite good, given its 20gb!

Maybe its me but I've found the retention staff not very good at offering deals to keep current customers. Might ring again and see if I can get this.

Tried it as well. Got PAC code without any bother a d trying to keep my as a customer. They tried to call me once after that and that's it. They dont care. I've told them that virgin is using ee and is cheaper and I was told that it's not same ee lol
Not same speed and reliability

Funny how different experiences we have had. I am on a 16GB deal at £19.99 p/m (there is some redemption on top of that but I won't bore you with the details, the overall cost has been £11.99 p/m) that is coming to an end. I hit the 45 day window so I called and asked for my PAC, the dude asked why and I said that I wanted the flexibility to move if I saw a good deal. He said they could price match and asked what deal I had seen so I mentioned the Virgin one and he matched it right away without any bother. He tried to sell me another line and broadband etc but other than that it was painless. I am the first one to suspect that people talk a load of old nonsense about retention deals but that genuinely was my experience. I spoke to a chap called Gavin in Sunderland if you want to try and get hold of the same person.

I honestly wasted few hours talking to them. I have two lines from EE and i feel like they don't care about customers at all

Anyone else managed to get this or other deals?
#19
Got through to retentions and got this deal yesterday. No questions asked, very little cajoling required.
#20
got this deal on one of my sims that was running towards the end of the contract.
Tried to get another line for the same price, but couldn't.
Got the second line for £20 [which isn't to bad], however had it for a week and might just cancel it and hope that they offer me this. But not to hopeful. Anybody been offered decent deals whilst leaving during the cooling down period?
#21
A bit of a hit and miss but looks like many have managed to get it.

I guess a bit like an item being out of stock in some places

I'm at the end of my contract. Phoned up for an upgrade today and mentioned this retention deal. They put me through to retentions and they gave me this without any question. Had a txt 5 mins later confirming my account was moved over.
#23
I was also offered this without question, but a couple of months ago this came with 15gb EU data, which is what I asked for.
They wouldn't budge and said that deal ended, still weighing up my options lol
#24
upgraded two lines from 36.99 2*16gb to 29.98 2*20gb.
can't complain

wish they could do 9.99 for 10gb though. really struggle to use all 20gb.

Amazing if you can get it! I'm also at end of contract and have tried 3 times. 2 via phone and 1 online. And been super nice about it (though the third time I asked for and received a PAC). The best I can squeeze out of them is 10GB for £17.99. And I just threw in the towel - time is worth something to me too.
