Is there anything to stop you just unlocking it and using it on another network, or does it somehow come with the contract already running and you have to phone EE to cancel? Hope that makes sense, I just don't see the difference between this and the more expensive Pay-as-you-go version! Thanks :D

Yeah know what you mean. No it doesn't but before they hand it over to you they sign you up to a contract. Once they've finished signing you up for the plan (cheapest is £12 for 2gb!) they then ask you for the £14.99 and put that through the till. So technically no there is nothing stopping you just how they've been told to put it all through the till. Pay as you go is more expensive than the combined cost of one month (£12) and the cost of the unit (£14.99) so a total of £26.99. They are going on eBay for £35-£40 minimum. So in short you only save £20 for going through all this hassle but I wanted to give it a try to see how it all worked. Hope this helps

Have just been in (Gloucester) and these are now £4.99 and one month free on the contract. Not bad under a fiver for the unit and one month free data on any plan.
