Cold might as well get unlimited data through virgin media if you just need it in the house and is just slightly less than £30

Standard cost for 32GB is £28/mth with a 1 month rolling contract - http://shop.ee.co.uk/sim-only/pay-monthly-data

I think the 30 day term deals are better: 16Gb for £22, £40 upfront, plus free NOW TV 3 month pass.

Can it be used abroad? I can't find anything on this.

There are lots of us that can't get Virgin.

Why vote cold just because you're lucky enough to be able to get cable?

Why would you be looking at this if you just needed it at home? This is roaming data for use outside the home.

Yes but over 24months - it is better value on their 1 month contracts (especially being locked in for 2 years) - now if it was £20/mth that would be better as Three have 4G AYCE (30GB tethering) for this per month.

I know that's in response to domd212's comment, but there are still plenty of rural areas which have no access to cable or fibre.

Council subsidised fibre rollout stopped short of us, we are stuck with 2Mb ADSL for the forseeable future - I can get 40-50Mb on EE 4G.

I think I would go for the AYCE & 30GB tethering deal on 3 too if I could get 4G.

The problem with 3 is that 4G is still none existant outside towns & cities.

I agree wrt coverage but there are rural places that can get it (me for one :-)) - I do prefer EE however signing up to a 2 year deal (in telecoms) may be a step too far for me - I do recall that EE were doing 25GB for £15/mth earlier this year which I would now do if on offer again (I think this was actually a 12 month contract).

100MB a month in the EU - though I suppose June 2017 they will have to give you the full 50GB

Great little device. Battery lasts about 8 hours and has a good wifi range. I use mine with a 3 pay as you go sim.

Serious question for those voting cold -

Are there any better/cheaper fast broadband options for those of us who can't get Virgin or Fibre?

I was seriously thinking about going for this, but the number of cold votes is making me wonder what I'm missing!

I live on a holiday park so no broadband at all and looked into mobile broadband and esspee is right. Three are the best deal 200 mins AYCE data and 30GB tethering. They don,t seem to add up the tethering I used over 150GB last month tethering. I am in a small village 100 yards from the sea right on the bottom of England tethering I get 11mb on 3 and 22mb on EE and 11 is ok for me not the 50mb I was used to with virgin. So if people can better receptions on three it isn,t hard to work out the maths

I've read that elsewhere. All our mobiles are on 3, the only problem with 3 here is that the 3G internet is crap on our local mast - sub 1Mb most of the time, and as low as a few hundred kpbs at times. Not sure if it's due to congestion or what.

It would be great if 3 would get round to upgrading this mast to 4G...

Heat from me OP. Where I am, the fastest home broadband speed is 0.5 mb/s. My mobile phone is on 3 and can achieve 5 mb/s. With EE, I can get 50 mb/s. For rural locations, this is brilliant. Good find.
