My Lg G2 had to go back to EE as the battery had a fault but EE said that I Might get it back for christmas. After been handed an old Samsung flip phone that doesn't work, I decided to go get a cheap Droid.

This one seems to tick the box along with an SD Card slot which would be handing to store tunes read for the car.

No t an amazing phone but cheap for my needs :)

Bought this for 35 in Sainsburys yesterday I was not sure if it would be locked to Vodafone/Sainsburys network but took the risk and thought I would buy an unlock code on ebay for a couple of pounds.Anyway it wasnt necessary as mobile was unlocked! Seems really good value.

Phones sold on the 'Mobile by Sainsbury's' network are not locked to any network. They are basically a SIM free phone bundled with a payg SIM.

According to the lady in sainsbury, she said that all the phones come unlocked but boxed with sainsbury mobile (like rflfimo said) so i guess as long as they come in that box, its good to go :)

How good is the phone?

For £35, it isnt bad. Dont expect greatness for it as mostr apps have that slight lag when opening but for a temp phone with my main is in repair, im weirdly surprised how well it is!

OP, if I was you, I would point out to EE that UK consumer law requires a repair or replacement within a 'reasonable' time, which you think for such a vital device for modern living would be 7 to 10 days. Perhaps adding that you are prepared to be reasonable and accept a G3 if they cannot source a G2. :-)

I like your thinking :)

You are right, with such a flimsy time frame, maybe i should push for a G3 :)

yeah easy. You can install any app from the google play store and it has an sd card slot. Depends on how you do music like spotify or transfer files, you will be good :)

Got one from the sainsburys link :) £35 is a nice price for an MP3/Phone, gonna swap the sim out though.

Came today decent little phone for 35 quid! Has decent speakers just as good as my S4! Goes to show how much we get fleeced on the premium stuff....

S4 is over 10x the cost too lol!!!

It's now £49 on Sainsbury's. Pity. Not worth that, especially with the competition from the cheap Nokia Lumias.
