How long do they last? I mean are they 30 day sims or 90 day?

They only work in mobile phones, this sim is for Mifi devices, dongles etc.

Flubit is good for these, generally <£15 I've been getting. Useful and cheap, but EE data sims (compared to three) a pain to activate if you're using an unlocked Huewei E585/6 Dongle etc, needs to be activated in a smartphone first, follow the onscreen messages so the 90 days becomes active.
Horrible 'user setup' experience, but fine once done, I'd rather they just gave you a automated phone number, entered the code of the sim, activated, covers all situations then. Maybe you can do it via EE Customer Disservice?

Can someone explain why they only work in a mobile phone ? Is it simply the size of the card OR is it that a nano simcard in a std sim adaper will not work with mifi dongles or tabz. Why Why On Why ? I only want some data. My world has collapsed since sambamobile went titzup.

Nothing to do with the form factor of the sim card, the contacts of a Nano Sim, Micro Sim, and Standard Sim are almost identically placed, you can physically cut a standard sim down to a Nano using a suitable Staple type cutter.
Its just to do with the way EE have decided to implement the activation, its an on screen menu process, where you have to select options, which means you can't activate them via a Dongle. Once activated you take the sim from the mobile and insert it into the Dongle. As a setup process, its the most annoying, convoluted method possible. I think its to stop anyone who doesn't understand English from using a local sim while in the UK.

Whats annoying is in weak signal areas the last few days, where I've had one bar - its come back telling me the card is not activated (this is on an iPad mini, not a dongle), so it must do some sort of secondary activation all the time to check the expiry date.

Three is much better, none of this stupid activation, but then you don't get 6GB for 90 days, otherwise I'd be using three.
